I have a feeling we'll make one more signing and I think it'll be a centre mid.

Coentrao seems to be suddenly forgotten

It's a diamond but both Mata and januzaj can play out wide and drift inside. This is as formidable as it gets. ------Fletcher------ -Januzaj------Mata-- -------Kagawa------- -Rooney--Van Persie- Fletcher can't play in there on his own. As good as those attackers are they'd never see the ball.

Given no option but to play the same set of players, I would go with -----Fletcher--Rooney------ -Januzaj-------------Mata-- --------------Kagawa------ ----Van Persie------------- Alas, never gonna happen.

Well I think we would keep the ball but a 4-2-3-1 also looks pretty wicked.
Januzaj-Rooney-Mata -----Van Persie---
Kagawa could replace any of those players by rotating those players slighty.

Spurs tried something similar under Ardiles. It looked good against poor teams at home but they were murderd by the better sides. Same thing would happen to that team you listed. City, Bayern, any side with a strong central midfield would destroy it, any time one of our attacks broke down the opposition would be at our back four as Fletcher would be overrun. It's all conjecture as no manager would play a side like that, bar the last ten minutes of a fans we were losing.

Fuck lads things are really moving on. The mail reporting Moyes was in Germany with Tony Kroos's agent. Skysports news just after reporting from Carrington on the Mata transfer also suggested we are on the verge of bidding for Luke Shaw.

If this is true then it's great to see the club not lying down.

===================Fellaini==========Fletcher===================
=======Ladnan================Mata================Rooney========
============================RVP================================
Kags is struggling to get a start now and Mata arriving will hardly improve this. I think We now need a Fellaini type player in the team. I think the Tree Beard would have a lot to offer in the avbove team.

I see weve supposedly bid £22m for Luke Shaw, bit much in all honesty but anything to get this squad going at the moment. I like the Kroos rumblings I've been hearing and hopefully we will get all this business done in jan!!

If we don't buy another midfielder: Carrick, Jones/Fletch Mata, Potato, Adnan/Kags RVP This will work best if the 3 players drift and pull defenders all over the place. Mata may start on the right and drift in, but Rooney needs to inter-change, something he hasn't done since Ronaldo left really. If he wants Fellani in: Fellani, Carrick, Jones Mata, Rooney RVP Not as exciting as the first one but still has goals and solidity.

David Moyes was on a scouting trip in Germany last night, and he watched Bayern Munich take on Borussia Monchengladbach and win 2-0. Before the game reports suggest that the Manchester United manager was there to watch Granit Xhaka and Patrick Herrmann.
However David Moyes was twice spotted speaking to Sascha Breese who is a representative of Sports Total. An agency that are in control of a whole host of players – including Bayern’s Toni Kroos and Dortmund’s Marco Reus.
Toni Kroos is an interesting one as he hasn’t yet agreed a new deal at Bayern. Now it could just be his agent trying to get him a better deal, or it could be solid interest on United’s part. I certainly hope it the latter as he’s a player who’d strengthen us significantly.
