I would give Fletch then Evans or Jones the armband but hey what do I know, your supposed to give it to a guy that fucks over his team mates and tries to hold the club to ransom.... He will never be a red....

Carrick Fletcher Evans Jones Rafael DeGea Smalling Persie Danny Chico and if all of them are injured or suspended or in general not able to play sure give the armband to Rooney. See i think he is Captain material, its a pity that there are a lot more ahead of him nothing a few sales won't accomplish i suppose after discussing with Rooney.

Don't understand that 'shortage of Captains' thing.
Vidic is still here.
Fletch\ Evans ---- are three lads you could give it to straight away. Jones /
Possibles: Robin van Persie, although I don't like strikers as captains. Rafael De Gea, although again, don't like 'keepers as Captain.

On another note Manchester City are interested in PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi. The Daily Express says City are lining up an £8m bid for Matuidi despite interest from Chelsea. The defensive midfielder, 26, is out of contract this summer and looks set to leave the French giants as a free agent. City boss Manuel Pellegrini is keen to beef up his midfield in order to take the pressure off key duo Fernandinho and Yaya Toure, and would prefer to wrap up a transfer this week. A swap involving PSG target Gael Clichy has been mooted
If its box to box we need surely we should be all over this, price age and talent all there

Think the Rooney input on transfers thing may just be- we're lining up z,y,z which isn't as bad as it's being spun. However, giving him a pay rise and potentially the captaincy is ridiculous. Pay rise for what, exactly?

WE could get Matuidi or Fernando or Rakitic for that and all are better players than him. Been saying Matuidi's name ever since reports broke that his contract won't be extended. So have a few others here. don't understand we will look at Cabaye but not Matuidi

So have a few others here. don't understand we will look at Cabaye but not Matuidi I hear you on this. At the price being mentioned the deal makes real sense. If the notion is rvp will be supported by adnan, Rooney, mata then behind them there needs to be patience and energy which for me translates to holding/sitting player (carrick/fellaini) and box to box which fletcher is there for so another is needed. Matuidi fits the bill. As much as we all want gundogan and koke, one has injury concerns and by all accounts career threatening, if that's the case after Hargreaves we should be nowhere near that deal, the other has signed a new deal with a higher buy out which his, club will want. Costa will be sold in the summer and athletico regardless of their debt will feel no extra pressure to sell another star. We have a player in top form, breaks down attacks, starts em has bags of energy and pops up with some goals available at under 10 million. Pogba will be a Madrid or psv player prob why they are not fighting for matuidi to sign a new deal, and Vidal well if we can and that's a big if then great. Vidal is in the same boat as koke in that once Pogba is sold juve has no pressure to sell Vidal who is their best midfielder. Right now we can get a top player for cheap and still have change for shaw

For me realistic mids are matuidi and Fernando due to contract situation and talent. And calvalho. We can get one or 2 this window. All are exciting players and will do the job. Calvalho has the caveat of us being able to throw Nani in as a sweetener obviously with the hope Nani would go back to Portugal

Most of them are too young, not always first choice in their position and in the case of RVP recently captain of another team therefore I don't really want him captain here. Fletch is a sure thing if he can play regularly for the next couple of years and probably Evans as vice.

David Moyes is reportedly close to sealing a deal to make Liverpool target Fernando Manchester United’s latest January signing.
The FC Porto midfielder is wanted by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, who is yet to add to his squad this month after seeing Chelsea hijack his pursuit of winger Mohamed Salah. United have already moved in the winter transfer window, confirming their £37m acquisition of Spanish international Juan Mata on Saturday, but Moyes was quick to warn rivals he wasn’t finished there. And it looks as though Fernando, 26, could be the next man on his way to Old Trafford, according to A Bola. The Portuguese newspaper claims the two clubs are edging closer to a deal before Friday’s deadline, with the Brazilian’s current contract due to expire in the summer. Liverpool, Everton and AC Milan are all reported admirers of the midfielder, who can play in a defensive role as well as in the back-line – somewhere United are badly lacking quality this season. Any deal is expected to set United, or any other club, back around £6.5m.
What a bargain price!

Pay rise for what, exactly? With regards his pay rise, I was going to say its hard work being a cunt, but its Rooney and its natural for him

In my view Rooney's new contract could well be to ensure that we get a decent fee for him in the summer, seeing as he's given the club a decade of service and vice versa. Also, Mata's always been a United fan it seems metro.co.uk/2014/01/26/why-manchester-united-fan-juan-mata-will-take-eric-cantonas-no-7-shirt-4278373/A Croatian journalist has predicted ‘Manchester United fan’ Juan Mata will take Eric Cantona’s famed no.7 shirt after revealing the Frenchman was the midfielder’s idol as a youngster. Antonio Bevanda, from Croatian website 24Sata.hr, conducted a chance interview with Mata back in 2010 after an under-21 clash between Spain and Croatia. Bevanda has now revealed: I remember one anecdote with the Spaniard. It was on the 12th October 2010. The young Spanish team were in Varazdin, Croatia won 3-0. Rakitic lost his teeth. There was a Spanish journalist who was with Mata and [Bojan] Krkic who had arranged an exclusive interview [ahead of the upcoming match] between Barcelona and Valencia, which was set for a few days later at the Nou Camp. Then, when Mata came out of the locker room, a reporter gave him a red shirt, which Mata gave to his mother to put in his bag. It seemed to me that it was an Eric Cantona, Manchester United shirt, but I wanted to check with Juan. ‘I saw that you put in the bag jersey. Is that a Manchester United shirt?’, I asked the Spaniard. Mata laughed and replied: ‘Yes, this is United’s jersey. I’m a huge fan.’ At the time, the Spanish midfielder excelled in Valencia, and was one of the best young midfielders in Europe. ‘I hope that one day I will play at Old Trafford’, added Mata. From his words I saw how much he loved United, and how he wished to join the Red Devils.
