Is it really just me who's quite happy to see Wazza signing a new contract?
You need to take all the papertalk with a pinch if salt about him getting the say on transfer targets and the captains armband. I'm not happy about the reported £300k a week wages but he's not the only footballer in the world being overpaid. All of them are quite frankly. But that's football. In all honesty he was correct to question Fergies transfer business 2/3 years ago. We were just papering over cracks and continuing to use the useless likes of Nani, Ando etc. Then we bought RvP and look what happened.
He has been by far our best player this season and without him we'd be nowhere. I thank him for that because he hasn't thrown his toys out the pram, he's got his head down and put in a blinding effort to drag the team along by the scruff of the neck.
In my opinion, and I said it earlier, I think Januzaj should be getting a break soon. Needs a rest at his age at this stage of the season. In the summer if we go ahead and snap up the likes of Reus, Vidal, Cavani etc I really struggle to see how Ladnan will get on the pitch.
Potential midfield line up:
Fellaini - Vidal Reus - Rooney - Mata RvP
Where does Januzaj get in?
Also what about RvP? Is he now deteriorating now hes getting older? The Cavani rumours certainly sounds like a good plan if it's true.

Not getting top four should be a sackable offence. Yeah but he didn't say that. And where did I say that he did? You're quite a literal type of chap, aren't you. Go crazy, take the leap of faith, see outside the box, whatever you want to call it.

Devastated would be if we missed out on Matuidi at 8mill and ended up paying more than or 20Mil for Cabaye IMO. Let's not forget this was the player who wouldn't play for the bar-codes once gunners bid was rejected-- do we really want him when options are available. I can understand if none are available but we can go for Matuidi /Fernando before settling for Cabaye. Also with Mata saying more players are to come in - i wonder if we have discussed possible targets with him or given a hint or do we already have certain deals in place surprisingly really I will say this again, Cabaye is a good pro if we cant get anyone he will improve us no end,in a midfield 3 with Carrick and Fellaini or in a two. He scores goals got a great shot and delivers a great cross.Out of our rivals in the same position I would say only Ya Ya is definitely better theres an argument for one or two others but in a side that keep the ball better (when Mata,RVP,Rooney) back he is also a fair tackler as well.So if we cant get a better player in until the summer then Cabaye is not just a stop gap.

Please, Cabaye is 28! I would take 23 year old Gundogan for the reported release clause of 25 mil even with his back issues ahead of Cabaye any day. I'm sure there are much better players out there who are both younger and even cheaper. I would bet my life that we would be able to take Lars Bender for 20-25 millions f.e., much better business IMO (and a German at last!).

If that's the case, Cabaye shouldn't really be one of the top of our list. Kroos for me.

Think Fletcher and Carrick (even Scholes) all in one - brilliant footballer with massive experience while only 24 (and a German ofc). The guy has 95,5% passing accuracy in the CL averaging 89 passes per game, 9.2 successful long balls, 1,7 key passes, 3 successful tackles per game - absolutely insane.

Sigh. Want that kid to show how awesome he truly is. Go on and play your heart out at Cardiff. Hope you'll be picked as first team every match.

Here's is what i think of the Cabaye transfer. Mata - it screams of United quality. Kroos - ditto. Gundogaon - same, Vidal - ditto.
Cabaye - about as much as Fellaini's does.
P.S. Fellaini's was a whimper btw

As you pointed out he had justifiable grounds to question the ambition of the club, the fans have been doing it since the Glazers took charge. I don't see much need of signing any more attacking midfielders/forwards, the need is still central midfield and full back positions.

I don't see how he is a bigger player than Keano was. i still think it was distasteful and quite damaging. we moved our RvN, Keano , don't see why a different yardstick has to be for rooney.
