Our front 4 is scary when all of them are played together. There is every chance DM won't unless he is forced to like Kags and Adnan against Swansea.
Felli/Carrick/Fletch
Mata Kags Adnan
-----RVP----
Play the above as much as possible and we have a real shot at 4th. No 10 requires tactical and positional discipline which PHC doesn't possess. He is welcome to play CM but that ain't gonna happen, so, fuck off.

If asking price is high for shitty, we won't bother. I'm not keen on him anyway. Last thing we need is a squad player we are stuck with on a 3-4 yr deal. Tweak the formation and accommodate Powell as part of mid 3.

luke shaw is one that would fit in quite snugly into our defence, also adam lalana would be a quality buy, but not heard anything else about Andros townsend, has anyone heard anything about townsend as it is very quiet on the transfer news

We've essentially acquired a class attacking player that is, basically, the equivalent of putting in a brand new V6 when your carburetor is on its last legs/broken. That's not really accurate. RVP and Rooney are also back. We are undefeated in the games they've started together (7 or 9 games, I forget). Add Adnan and Mata to that and we've got goals. Some combination of Jones, Fletcher, and Fellaini will have to hold the fort behind them.

Also keeping my trust in Davey. The signing of Mata has totally changed my perception on this season. A left back this window would have been nice but I'm more than happy with Juan. Officially counting down the days until the summer window now. Forget the World Cup. If were going out to sign the best players around that sounds more exciting to me . Scotland not being in the WC also contributes to this .

We're really not signing anybody are we.... something tells me you live in eternal hope Chris.... Paul was right, im surprised we even got Mata. which speaks volumes (and confirms our initial fears) that we really were looking at going through the current season with this squad. that is a decision only masochists would take... or DD with his handy sideman Ed (who i get the idea when buying players looks like Peter above me here ^^)

and yes Scotland not in the world cup is always good for mankind lol The only musical instrument more annoying than a vuvuzela (sp?) is thankfully not going to disrupt any football matches this year. Apart from when England are knocked out by Costa Rica . Oh no he didn't! please don't ban me .

The greatest tragedy isn't that we're not doing any business today, it's that we never spent the gap between the end of the last window and the start of this one lining up some deals. Our business should have concluded on the 1st of this month with some signings that we'd previously thrashed out. When Mata became available, he should have been a wonderful bonus to add to the players we'd already signed (to play in the positions we desperately need reinforcing) this month. As it stands we've signed a wonderful player, but one who plays in a position we're not short of quality in. We're now left praying that Fletcher can play every single week and that the big Belgian will somehow magically adapt to the team and be brilliant upon his return.
He's put a lot of eggs in the basket of Rooney and RVP. He's took a gamble that if they stay fit, their goals, aided by Mata, will win us games regardless of how many we concede on any given day. Problem is we've been playing shite all season and have very seldom looked like bagging a lot of goals regardless of who we've had on the pitch.
