All this 'us' business from United supporters talking about England sits so uneasily with me it is unreal. If your English then it's us. Forget the FA.

I can ignore the F. A. - refer you to this though: They are a problem. Also the 'minority' of England supporters who boo United players in an England shirt. Or string up effigies of United players when it was really England's blue-eyed boy who cost them a quarter-final result. Or create petitions for United players not to go to the World Cup. The England supporters who have a superiority complex not only about the national team but about the standard of football at club level as well. The England supporters who only really have any half-a-clue about the Premier League and are disgustingly smug even to lower levels of the English game. (Yes, this is based on a guy that I know. He scoffs at any level below Premier League/La Liga.) Or Piers Morgan.

Probably easier to think that way when your not English yourself. Maybe, but I'm English and it sits uncomfortably with me too. Each to their own. I was an England fan in the 1980's-1990 world cup back before the whole club vs country thing got as big as it is now and before the " stand up if you hate Man u" era. I have also been to several England games at OT and had a great old time ( especially the Greece game). End of the day I'm English and I can't change that lol.

Oh yeah, I've done my fair share of England supporting over the years, but I'd say the last 10 years have been where I began to move away from it. I would never actually will them to lose, but conversely I cannot cheer for them to win either. It's a combination of things for me. The whole A.B.U mentality, added on to the high quota of players whom I actively dislike, Including one of our own in PHC.

I think England is one of the best countries in the world. Definetly in the top 10 i'd say. I bet if you asked most English people about it they'd just complain. To be fair I complained a while back & said i'd never watch another England friendly again because they are boring and pointless. This is the World Cup though.

People not cheering is why the coaching from grassroots up is absolute shit and archaic? Madness. That righ there is the reason England won't be winning the World Cup anytime soon. In terms of football or in terms of overall? Either way, England doesn't get in a top 10.

Not very racist. Beautiful countryside. Home to the Epl.

I'm not as bothered about England as I once was. Years of disappointing and indifferent performances has left me somewhat apathetic, plus years of tabloid bullshit and pre tournament hype followed by more bullshit and post tournament scapegoating has left me feeling jaded. I still get behind the team, but in reality it's only because I feel obliged. That's a pretty sad state of affairs - having to actively force oneself into being excited about the national team. I think a major factor is that I just don't like the players. Most of the high profile England players of the last ~10 years have been at best obnoxious twats, at worst contemptible cunts - I don't feel any kinship or affinity for these people. I don't feel they represent me. But anyway... Fuck it, C'MON ENGLAND!

Pretty much how I feel. I'm very sick of the whole thing surrounding England but as soon as they step on that field they are playing football for England. Still remember crying when Brazil knocked us out.
