Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica. Not sure why people are referring this to the group of death.
We can qualify the group stages by...
1) Making Suarez bite one of our players, ergo insta-red card and key man curbed - hope then one of our players scores. 2) Pass in our own half against Italy for 90 minutes, play 8-1-1, park the bus, go for the draw.
And, I'm guessing-ish we should win or draw against Costa Rica.

never got into the whole anti england group with fellow united fans, never understood it especially given the fact our players keep putting on the shirt.

It wasn't the bloody media! Hoddle was asked straight after the game, 'Is it the sending off that cost England?'
"'Course it has!", came the emphatic and even incredulous that it is even in debate reply.
From day one Becks was made the scapegoat. No fucking mention of that serial cheat Shearer needlessly elbowing the Argentine 'keeper when Sol Campbell's goal was disallowed.
I say again, FUCK ENGLAND. They hate us, and I hate them.

They hate us so much that they keep picking our players to play for them and our players hate them so much that they keep answering the call? It's not the 90's anymore and you don't hear the "stand up if you hate manu" chants anymore. As someone who served in the army and my dad served in the navy during the falklands I think its a disgrace that our own fans chant " Argentina, Argentina, Argentina". Argentina a former military junta that not too long ago invaded one of our islands and started a war in which hundreds of Brits were killed and even recently tried to bully the falkland islands into submission...

Just seen The Class of 92. There is one section where Phil and Becks talk about the abuse they received due to mistakes made as England players. They go on to describe how vile it was for them and their family which includes wives, parents and grandparents. Just listening to those lads detail the abuse makes me sick.

We also sing songs about building a bonfire and buring city and Scousers on it. It's a football chant, don't take it so seriously. The national side needs United players, but it's the media and a lot of England supporters I'm talking about. Hell, even the coaching tried to convince us Scholes needed to be shunted wide left to accomdate Lampard -- Gerrard wonder axis of shite. And obvioualy our players aren't going to not play international football and represent their country just because they play for United. That'd be ridiculous. I don't expect it nor demand it. I want them to be England's best players in a losing team.

About as hard a group as England could have hoped they wouldn't get, but not impossible to get out of.
Italy are no great shakes anymore, they failed to beat New bloody Zealand at the last would cup, they have a couple of class acts (Buffon, Di Rossi) but also a lot of mediocrity in the side. They're also notoriously slow starters at tournaments, getting better in the knockout rounds. They failed to best England at the European Championships needing pens to get through (no pens in the group stages) so I wouldn't write it off as a guaranteed loss.
Costa Rica are shit and England will beat them. Prob 2-0.
Uruguay are a very good side, and it may come down to this game to get through. But if England can get 2 draws and a win, that might be enough to get through.
On the whole "hate England" thing, I don't like the national team either. The booing of United players whilst playing for England was just a disgrace. The FA hanging Beckham or Rio out to dry. The media's obsession with blaming a United player every time England get knocked out (Beckham, Phil Neville, Rooney). But if England were to get to a major final, I'd be pretty surprised if any Englishman didn't care. It's still our country after all, and shrugging the national team off as no hopers is easy, because they are no hopers at the moment, but once the players are striding out for a world cup final, still being just as "Who cares" (and actually meaning it, not just doing it to continue looking cool and aloof and hoping some girls are watching you, come on we've all done it, it's the grown up version of pulling a wheelie past a group of girls) would amaze me. Along with the mens 100m final at the Olympics, the world cup final is the biggest sporting event on the planet. If your country was taking part, you'd have to get carried away with it, you'd just have to. It's a moot point really though as England really are terrible, and about as far away from a world cup final as it's possible to be.
As for the non English hating England, well, yeah, that's as it should be. When the national teams are playing I hope both Irelands, Scotland and Wales lose, heavily. It's rivalry. I'd be surprised at any of the Irish lads wishing England well, and why should they? They're not English. And this is whilst still not really caring about England myself.
Australia getting the group they've got is hard luck as well. I don't like the Aussie team, as a pom in Australia it's my job to hate every Australian sportsman, women and team, but there's a lot of interest in the world cup when Australia are playing, once they go out the interest tends to fade, and it's back to watching rugby or AFL. So I was hoping they could get an easier group and make it through, just so the focus remains on football for a longer period over here. But still, they're fucked with that group.
