Jason Day's won The Player's Championship wire-to-wire. Nice little profit for me as well. Cheers Jason!

Irish Open this week. Really one of my favourite events of the year to watch, always provides the ultimate golfing test. Fancy Rory to break his duck in the event. Been trending in the right direction lately and looks really close to playing his best golf.

Man oh man what an absolute corker from Rory there on the 18th to secure his first ever Irish Open title. Just casually knocks his 2nd on the par 5 from about 250 yards to within about 2 feet of the flag. Sublime shot.

US Open this week at Oakmont. Looks like a ridiculously tough test. Super fast greens and super thick rough make for a true test. Love the US Open for this very reason, always good to see golfers tested to the absolute limit of their abilities. Much rather see them struggle and win with a score of level par or above than just see everyone dropping birdies left right and centre, gets a little boring imo.

As always with the US Open there's going to be a premium on finding fairways and greens. Even when you find the greens it's still going to be majorly difficult to 2 putt from almost anywhere with how ridiculously fast they are. Going to be a joy to watch. Love seeing golfers struggle.
Really fancying a steady player this week. I think Justin Rose will contend and Kuchar is a decent shout as well, been in great form of late. Can't discount the big 3 of Rory, Spieth and Day but they can all be a bit wayward off the tee at times but if they're finding fairways it goes without saying they're the guys to beat.

Love watching them struggle like I do when I play (an I don't even consider the score I would shoot over 3 holes on that course ) Also love seeing the shots they will make that absolutely defy all logic and most of the laws of physics .. If I was betting, I would look to Zach Johnson. Homegrown lad and I think his game suits the challenge if he is "on"

Zach always enters calculations for a US Open because of how straight he is off the tee. I'd have liked to see some better form coming into it for me to put money on him though. No doubt he's a contender if he's "on" as you say.

Gonna be one hell of a tourney. The young guns will be Rocking it. That is one of many things Tiger brought, the kids now just have no nerves in them, and they work out and take care of themselves. I remember watching the old pros (got to walk with them in Hawaii when stationed there back in 70's) and it was totally different
The golf now is awesome, but I am not sure it is better, have always wondered what a player like Bobby Jones, or more recent, The Golden Bear would have done with the equipment that is being played with now.
The course is wet, Speith and Johnson going off together, there will be some great scoring with the course damp. It won't make that much diff on the greens but it will sure as hell let them place the ball where they want it coming into the green. Long hitters are going to have a bit of advantage
Still all in all gonna come down to the putting

Fucking rain is going to make this course significantly easier now this week. There's a fella at -5 already before the rain stopped play again. As you say you have to really fancy the long hitters now as the ball isn't going to run out of fairway quite as easily.

Wind knocked the scores back down somewhat, and the putts still hve to be made, Even with the course getting softer it is still gonna make them pay for mistakes around the greens

It is starting to get interesting at Oakmont ..Furyk (one of my all time favorite players, class guy), Sergio looks to be making a run and can be magic, course starting to assert itself a bit Gonna be some great golf being played and an interview with the Golden Bear coming up, the greatest ever IMO
