Yes, the back 9 will be very interesting. The course is really biting back today.
Dustin has to put one of these away eventually doesn't he? He's playing really solid golf right now but he's done it in the past and always finds a way to fuck it up and throw away the major so I'm not convinced.
Lowry is just about surviving because of his short game but he needs to start finding fairways or he's going keep dropping shots.
Sergio has the talent but like Dustin, mentally struggles when it comes down to it in majors...
Have to say, I'm liking Furyk in the clubhouse at -1. It's really not difficult to drop 4 shots on this course.

Aye, Furyk is sitting pretty, and the course just gets harder as the day goes on too. W0uld like to see DJ grab it.
Cannot even begin to imagine the kind of pressure that these guys deal with out there, one slightly mishit ball
could be double or even triple bogey,

I'd love to see Sergio win it seems he's been so close in the past and been a quality golfer for a long time. Lowry or Johnson would be great to see as well, first time winners and all.
And now Day pops up with an eagle to move himself to even. He's not out of this either!

Starting to get interesting  Great course, will bring out the best or break a player, sometimes it only takes that one sot like Day's eagle to get on a roll  for me I make one or two good shots about every 9 holes and it keeps me going out and being abused time after time I love the game, IMO the most difficult to play at a consistently high level. Any little shift of the foot, drop of the shoulder and I'm chasing one in the weeds again |

Yeah I agree. I've tried my hand at most sports but golf just fucks with me. I enjoy it but play like I'm drunk and blind.
And there's another one for Day, -1 now. If he can get to -3 I make him favourite.

That fucking drive from Dustin on the 12th. Carries it 328 and it travels about another 50. He's going to have an iron into a 600+ yard par 5. The guy's just a monster.

Shit they've just said he's got to review some video footage when he's finished his round and he may suffer from a 1 shot penalty. They're not entirely convinced he didn't ground his club on the 5th. And now he's hit a poor shot into the par 5, this may damage him mentally for the rest of this round. So fucking cruel.
Garcia to -3 now. Really starting to bunch up.

Absolute joke really. The guy is trying to win a major championship and he's going to have to play the rest of his round not knowing if he will receive a 1 shot penalty or not. They should make a fucking decision and tell him now so he knows what he has to do.

Dj could end up going into the clubhouse having won the US Open, then being told by some nerd he loses a stroke, and then Lowry could have to walk out in front of 20k fans and lift a trophy everyone knows he does not deserve. Not fair for anyone.
