I think the FIFA election has basically proved just how much opinion differ on the matter of corruption from East to West. We all know corruption is part of daily life in most African countries and its rife in parts of Asia. Its unacceptable for the next two World Cups to have such a cloud of corruption hanging over them. Valid statement over WC corruption, but do not forget UEFA is not a saint on the anti-corruption fight. It's easy to say "oh, I will resign, I do not accept this" but sit on your comfortable chair at the end of the day, find excuses to stay and think your job is done. Want a solid example of western corruption? Platini agreed with the World Cup placed in Qatar, so don't turn it to an East/West problem as the eastern money from petroleum and other sectors are very convenient to them, especially in the last couple of years. FIFA has a Swiss president, a country that ranks low in corruption (5th least corrupted country according to the Transparency index or something). Emperor Palpatine wasn't supposed to be so corrupted then if you follow this logic, right? All confederations - no exception - are to blame, some bear more responsibility than others. The biggest ones (the ones who export talents, import talents, have challenging leagues, World Cup titles, successful history and tradition and so on) hold the major, they turned football into the success it is today, when they accept all of this, they give their "ok" to what's happening, they make FIFA as powerful as they are. I think it was @dedrevil who posted something interesting about major federations quiting FIFA - which would possibly give a high impact - and I agreed but gave a sad example that happens in my home country, about presidents we don't want in charge of football, and how those big federations benefit from this system.

I'm hoping that someone will squeal about doing the dirty dealings for blatter, therefore he will get nailed and hopefully rot in prison I'm hoping for some change to the World Cup. Piss Qatar off. Move it to a non slave labour country I can take the family too. Tbh though I wouldn't mind it being pissed off for a while. The international game is fantastic in some ways but mostly doesn't fit in with Club football anymore. I'd like to see some different end of year tournaments for a while. no friendlies & qualifiers against Shit nations. Shorten the Domestic season by not having international weeks & then at the end of the year throw in some tournaments like the South American & African Nations do. England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, France, Spain, Germany etc get together & play a tournament with home & away games. None of this massive building stadiums & all this shit. play at the grounds we love. I'd watch the shit out of that. I can quite understand your points but come on the world cup is simply the greatest tournament of all time. Of course it's questionable how countries who need to build stadiums are getting the tournaments, whereas there are countries like ours, with too many stadiums therefore would have a massive saving on construction, and would be able to spend it elsewhere, potentially improving the tournament itself and not putting the country at economic risk like what has happened to Brazil. Regarding your tournaments there already are continental competitions so there would be no need. We'll get a world cup one day, greg dyke needs to convince though.

Just seen the video of Jack Warner citing 'The Onion' as part of a defense, what an idiot. If they're all that stupid, it shouldn't take too long to round them up.

I agree with everything you say, and its fair to say I might be slightly nieve regarding UEFAs previous history. Its true Platini supported the decision to choose Qatar but that doesn't make him corrupt, even Fergie and Guadiola backed there claim at one point, which was a pretty shit PR move for both I retract my East/West comparison also because the vast majority of those arrested are from South America and Jack Warner country.

Nah chill, we all get defensive of our confederations and don't want the cloud of corruption and shame. I don't trust Platini yet, but I would rather have him than Prince Ali and his 40 thieves from Jordan. WC should be in Australia, the timezones thing is shit - Japan/Korea had high levels of audience, Asians would watch it, have one fucking break from being the ones who wake up at 3am and we all know we would get up early to see our national sides either getting spanked or succeeding. I'm very happy Marin got arrested by the way, they should keep digging on this fucking mafia

Its unlikely he developed morals overnight. I would say he's facing lengthy legal battles ahead.
