This might sound like a jealous rant but Rodriquez has joined a team that boasts, Ronaldo, Bale, Modric, Alonso, Di Maria and Kroos. How many world class players does any club need. Xisco who will one day be one of the best central midfield players in the world can't get a game and would walk into our team. What is the big fantasy that surrounds Madrid?. I can understand leaving Monaco for Madrid but the best Munich team in years.

I don't get the attraction of the club either, do players seriously not see what's happened to those who have gone before?

We can huff and puff all we want but over the last couple of years the La Liga teams have been brilliant at times especially when we got spanked in the Europa. City are the current champions and they have never played in the last 8 of Europe's elite....

End of the day we loved Ronaldo and he loved us. Didn't stop him crawling on all knees when Madrid came calling and it wont stop all these players either. I love my club but I have accepted the fact we will never have the same kind of appeal than the Reals, Barcas etc. We are Manchester United we don't need to buy 7 superstars....we will find our own way like we always do.

Spot on except for the competitive league bit. Real also normally don't skimp on the wages. And normally the WAGS also have a big swing factor when the footballers decide these things.

Theres no doubt madrid is a beautiful city and madrid has a glorious history but so does AC Milan, who have won more european trophies than any club and are every bit as prestigious as madrid in my eyes. The preach that your not a great player unless you play for madrid, which is bollocks. The inequality that exists within Spanish football is huge. Both them and barca hover up the money and therefore have the capital to hover up the best players in the world. This puts Simeones achievements into perspective within this climate.

AC Milan is a abysmal right now. Pretty much all Italian football except Juventus and maybe Roma is dire. Mismanaged to no end, absolutely skint, pretty much ambition-less. It's a dead end job, so to speak. Although I agree about the inequality in Spain. Just the TV revenue split alone is witness to the favoritism towards Barcelona and Real Madrid. And absolutely, Simeone is a genius to achieve what he did with what he had and the gross inequality that exists there.

Like I said in another thread; we criticise City, Chelsea and PSG but Real are worse by far, and are immune to any reprisals over debt, tapping up players, out of control wages etc.. because they're propped up by the Spanish government and are the darlings of FIFA. Their fans are fucking ridiculous too, you could combine the fans of all the top clubs in the world and they still wouldn't be as arrogant and demanding as their lot.
They trade on their past glories and the glamourous image they have, they could have a 10 year barren spell and players would still strive to join them with the slightest hint of interest. If they were an English club, FIFA would have absolutely battered them by now.

Agreed except for Barcelona are the darlings of FIFA and UEFA.
This summer Barcelona (supposed to have a transfer ban) signed Suarez (supposed to be banned from all football activities) for £ 75 million (supposed to adhere to FFP).

That's true, Barcelona are the apple of FIFA's eye. Madrid still get endless protection though, but perhaps not the outright favouring that Barcelona get.
