Hear this out for a second. Falcao in. Rooney leaves. Rooney is no longer there to be considered an option for midfield. Might we buy a midfielder then? Bestie you now are officially in Cuckoo land, whether we sell Rooney or not buying a Mid is still a long way off cos we have Carrick , Giggs has another year and we are not sure Ando will be sold , Scholes is still Uncertain and we don't play Clevs or Powell . The chances of us getting one is very very remote , hence the need to have rooney rather than buy Falcao. Rooney plays more like 3 players in one , he is there defense , in Midfield and on the wings apart from playing as a striker. No matter how exciting it is getting a new player( A talented one that too) it will leave a massive hole cos we play quite differently when roondog isn't playingAye mate its called shit. If he does leave I'm going to enjoy hearing people say "we shouldnt have gotten rid of him" or "we haven't been the same since he left".

Should we get Falcoa, Hernandez won't be a part of the picture anymore as he'll be a part of the trade.
Whoever greased the wheels of this deal is a genius. 25 mil + Hernandez for the 3rd best striker in the world? I'll take it every time.
As United fans, it's time that we accept that football has changed. 4-4-2 no longer works. SAF is looking to deploy the 4-3-3 with Wazza/RVP/Falcoa/Welbeck up top. Carrick holds, Shinji does creative ninja stuff, Ando/Cleverley/Grandfather Giggs take turns rotating. One has no further to look than PSG to see how effective it can be. Shore up that defense with Garay and we just became an undisputed top-3 team in Europe.

Although we are well in front in the league and were fairly competitive in all competitions this year and I wont complain about these things... THE 4-3-3 HAS NOT 'WORKED' FOR US SINCE THE DAYS OF RONALDO I think many fans will feel the same as I do, we are not quite sure where goals will come from at time. We are reliant on players in form and dont quite have our system figured out yet. We play players out of position more than any other top team, which is both a testament to our players and gaffer, but also equally frustrating. IMO

This has never worked for us and besided we'd be run over in the middle and in no time would revert to a 4-5 -1 with a lone striker up top getting no service or us bogged in the middle. + this is too player dependent IMO EDIT: ha.. kamilo you beat me to this

yes and no. look how far we got with our current squad...
I say buy these two, re-sign rooney (which is nearly the same as buying someone with the outrageous wages that kid gets).
I'd like to steal another mid from someone. I hear modric might be unhappy...
time to put that 117.6 million in revenue to work.

I can't remember a time when we've genuingly played 4-3-3? Played the dodgy diamond shape but never a traditional 4-3-3 like Barca?
Carrick
Rooney Strootman
Kagawa RvP
Falcao

Kamilo- you're exactly right. we play guys out of position ALL the time. That's what makes the 4-3-3 brilliant for us. all three top players can shift positions at any given time. With the work rate that welbeck and our white pele usually put in, wingers won't be as important. In the middle, whoever isn't carrick can either suck in, drop back or push up, depending on the game.
Karthy-that's why I advocate grabbing that CB. we need one regardless, but at 6'4 and 187 lbs, Garay is a beast of a man. Imagine trying to cruise through him AND Vidic (pending the murderous Serb's knee)
No one player is a cure-all, but outside buying CR7 and Messi, can you imagine any other player besides Falcao that would terrify the opposition more? It would be the best strike-force in Europe, and that IS with respect to the British Royal Air Force.

Just seen on sky sports that Hernandez has the best goals to minutes ratio in PL history at 120 mins per goal, Henry was second on 121 mins.Maybe it would be better to appreciate what we have, as there are no guarantees that Falcao, as good as he is, would settle in England.

Jones, Smalling, Rio, Vidic & Evans? Nah, get a couple more in. Rooney, Hernandez, RvP, Welbeck? What are you going to win with such a light attacking force? Midfielders? Who needs them? We should buy Casillas, Buffon and Valdes before we buy a midfielder.

I think I would rather sell RvP before Hernandez. Not because I think the team would be better, just because he's my Little Pea and doesn't belong anywhere else. HERNANDEZ STAYS.

Areba Hernandez- I love the kid, but that stat is why we'll get 20mil for him. Amazing sub, sub-par starter.
And there's always a bit of worry as to whether or not a player can/will adjust to different leagues. I have to think that a member of the World Starting XI could manage though.
Dan-Our best player is a midfielder (carrick is United's MVP. there is no debate on the matter. anyone that says otherwise is just 1 of 1,000,000,000 fair-weather fans I have to deal with on a daily basis). We may need more, but how many? Kagawa can/may adjust, we have one of England's finest in Cleverley, and Giggs is still good for another year. It'd be nice for Ando to be better, but hopes and dreams, etc.
I want a mid. We need a mid. We can afford a mid. Splasing 25-35 on another attacker won't harm us at all. That'll leave at least 20-25 for someone, and that isn't taking into account the pending sell of both/either Nani and Valencia (speaking of which, can't we play this guy at RB? can't cut it as an attacker, maybe he belongs at defense?)
Don't forget how United approach a season; we usually try to have enough for two full teams. In the BPL, you need a strong squad. In the UCL you need an elite squad. We have the base and the resources for both. Hernandez is not a liability. He's great, exciting and I genuinely like him. I'd just rather have Falcao.

Falcao is a great player, but we need a CM first and foremost. impossible to figure out what Sir Alex plans for the summer business. i was among many that didnt think we were actually interested in RVP, for example. but i think there might be some truth to the Falcao gossip especially if Sir Alex turns Rooney into a CM of sorts, or if he sell Hernandez. but, Falcao is the hero United deserves, but not the one it needs right now. so, Sir Alex will hunt him
