Am I the only red depressed by Welbeck's performance for Arsenal last night? He looked excellent value at 16 million. No I take that back. He was a steal at that price.!! Now I'm not going to judge the new management just yet, but let's say I'm not overly impressed so far. Any United fan knew that we should have kept Welbeck until January at the least.

Welbeck had his chance today against Chelsea to prove his doubters wrong, and to rub our noses in it... except of course he didn't. Arsenal capitulated to Chelsea. Welbeck should have earned a straight red 3 match ban for that lunge on Fabregas too. I was actually hoping the Arse could stop some of Chelsea's momentum with a win, but it was never to be.

Should have seen red today as well. Not seen any arsenal fans white water wristing over him today though.

As expected, didn't pull up any trees. And he won't be either. A flat track bully in every sense of the word.

If Rooney had've made that two-footed lunge that Welbeck disgracefully produced today, it would be on both the front and back page of every tabloid tomorrow.

It was a disgusting challenge. Two footed and feet above ground. Wenger whines so much about other teams wanting to hurt his players, I'd like to see his reaction to this.

It was no worse than Cahill's which only got a yellow...

It was no worse than Cahill's which only got a yellow... It seems like Cahill actively avoids the ball in that 'tackle'. It was a disgrace really.

It was no worse than Cahill's which only got a yellow... Another case of a referee trying to keep things even. Both could have easily been a red.

It was no worse than Cahill's which only got a yellow... Exactly . That was another red card challenge for me . Didn't even try to get the ball with that . But its Atkinson. He was never going to send off a rentboy at home . So he let it pass. And to maintain consistency he let the Welbeck one pass as well. Watch him send off a United player for something not half as bad.

A clear as day two footed lunge with both feet off the ground yet he only gets a yellow, I'd love for some sort of ruling to come in which meant referees could be questioned / asked to explain decisions after a match. I've no idea why the refs get so much protection either, they get paid a shit load of money yet never have to answer for some of the truly dreadful decisions we see from them every week.
