All of this ignores the fact that we are currently playing our third best (by some margain) GK which will eventually bite you on the arse. Swansea was the first example. Romero was barely tested in the games he's played so far, then we had Swansea. Van Gall needs to do some soul-searching and try to find a way of getting either Valdes or De Gea back in the side asap. All this talk od 'rotting the reserves' is great but once it starts to cost the club points it becomes far less easier to justify. Right now, Johnstone might be a better choice then Romero. But back to the point of DDG behind the sticks. So we are supposed to ignore everything that just happened and let Big Dave stroll into the number 1 spot? The pressure for him to be in the first team in order to be ready for the National Team, should be enough to sign a deal that pays him extremely well, and also protects the club. We have been fully behind DDG and the least he can do is man up, sign a deal that allows us to get proper value, then he can resume his career.... Ronaldo did the same thing (but in private.) It wasn't played out as much in the papers but the whole world knew he wanted out in the summer of 08. Fergie persuaded him to stay for one more season and he got us to the final in 09. Fergie is obviously a better manager than Van Gaal but the example is clear- play your best player. Dortmund did it with Lewa and he hit nearly 30 goals. I hope he does sign a new deal, if only for the club to get properly paid. But let's be honest- Casillas is going to start in the Euros anyway. And we only have to look at Romero to know that sometimes national teams pick players in certain positions that don't play regularly. So we then have the choice 'teaching someone a lesson' who doesn't care what the lesson is. Even if he doesn't play for Utd, they may well still pick him as 2nd choice. So then you are only cutting off your nose to spite your face. If you want to go down that road fine, but the team will suffer. Also, if Valdes really carried on the way it has been alleged, would he really still be at the club? I find that very hard to believe.

you know, we've only spent 26mil but you know full well that everyone will forget that and still say 'HURR HURRR buying the league' but then contrary to that, they'll say 'club x (that isn't united) has only a net spend of 'x' and they're great'. If thats also true (26mil net) and we said no to Marco fucking Reus due to 60mil price then that's fucking scandal. Lol. You changed the thread title again? The Death Rattle.

sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/lyon-star-dreams-of-man-united-moveManchester United's deal for Anthony Martial (€50m + €30m in bonuses) has caused quite the stir in France, with many still not quite believing the amount spent on the young striker. At 19-years-old, some see the transfer fee as extra pressure for the teenager, who is still very far away from being the complete package. However, in an interview with French radio station Europe 1, Lyon's Nabil Fékir suggests the sum is to be expected these days. He said: "Anthony is a very good player, I played with him at Lyon. Of course, it's a lot of money. We know that clubs are capable of spending these amounts on good players". On the topic of Manchester United, Fékir couldn't help but let slip his admiration for the 20 times Premier League champions. He added: "Playing for Manchester United one day? Why not. it's a club that makes you dream, but we're not there yet. The need to have a good season at Lyon comes first, and then, we'll see". Manchester United players will be excited by these statements, for the Lyon attacking midfielder (and sometimes striker) was a revelation in the French league last season. Playing 34 games for Lyon last season, Fékir scored 13 goals and completed nine assists. If that wasn't enough, the 22-year-old already has four goals in four games this season, currently averaging a goal every 87 minutes.

Fekir links up superbly well with Lacazette. He is also quite a good player in his own right.
EDIT: Wouldn't have ever pegged him as a striker though. Definitely an attacking CM any time I have seen him play.
