Fekir links up superbly well with Lacazette. He is also quite a good player in his own right. EDIT: Wouldn't have ever pegged him as a striker though. Definitely an attacking CM any time I have seen him play. Yep Fekir is a great no 10. but we have a great number 10 already.

I reckon the Reus talk is rubbish. No way we'd baulk at £60m when we paid the same last year. He doesn't strike me as a player moved by money either and genuinely loves Dortmund. I'd love to have signed him but if ever he was going to leave it would of had to be done early on. Not on Deadline Day for a transfer that size.

Not Whining on the Window - i mean fuck we got Schni's in there and our RB is sorted so that 's good for me. But what does worry me is the trimming (while needed) is very similar to what the gimps did to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and what followed after that year on year iirc. Plus the way we have gone about the buying does also seem like LVG could be steering us to the 4-3-3 False 9 route which i am not overly fond of and TBH dread it more that the crap our matches have become lately in terms of excitement. We have the personnel to make us exciting, playing good link up play and perfect in counter attacking but one qn keeps coming back to me time and again Did Van Gaal Show how big his balls are or tell the size of the Marbles he'd lost at Bayern He needs to the sort the shit out with the Team formation, Play and Players. That and somehow manage to appease the gods into granting us an injury free season.

Meh, we'll be fine. Some San Marino farmer/dentist/UPS packer/goat herder/massage therapist, will snap Rooney during the international break.

All this, we turned down Reus for £60m is bullshit in my opinion. Clearly a last gasp of click bait from the media

Well, it's going to be an interesting season, if nothing else! I'm hoping we get to see Pereira, Lingard, and Wilson get some serious playing time.
I think the signing I'm happiest about is Schneiderlin. I have admired that guy for years and he is exactly the player we had been missing. Add to Schneiderlin that we picked up two pacey, tricky wunderkinder (Memphis, Martial) and it's looking like a pretty great window. We also sorted out our right back conundrum and as sad as it was to say goodbye to Rafael, Darmian is a great fucking player. The De Gea transfer falling through has the potential to be a windfall as well, if he signs a new contract. If he signs then I think we can count on him not leaving in January and we will have the world's best keeper. If De Gea won't sign, I'd play Valdes.
There were dozens of sexy names thrown around this window, and I would have loved to have picked up 4 or 5 of those glittering prizes, and I have no idea why we didn't snap up Otamendi at the very least, but so be it. With Rojo and McNair and the new guy we have some cover in defense, so it's not totally dire. I personally would get Rojo back in the side ASAFP.
Oh, I forgot about Bastian Schweinsteiger. The dude is practically a legend. If we can get him fit and firing, we should be an amazing force.
If we can avoid the injury plague we had last term and if we can manage to play our most clinical finisher, Own Goal, we will be fine.
Hopefully Martial will be our new striker, spending a little time as Rooney's understudy before knifing him in the back and seizing the throne. Wilson will continue to develop with more game time, and I seriously think Wilson could be the next Great English Player.
Overall, I'm ready for the season to start. We are far better now than last term and I expect us to be challenging for the title.

I'll admit, I think I've fallen a bit for the constant linking of United with every star player out there. No doubt Otamendi would've been a cracking signing but for one reason or another it didn't happen. Time to move on. As I said in another post, it's all done now for the foreseeable future- it's not exactly what we needed IMO but also far from a complete disaster (contrary to my embarrassingly reactionary post right after 6pm yesterday). Can't help myself- love this club- will be watching each and every game and singing/shouting/screaming/pulling what remains of my hair as always. Buckle up. Let the kids wreak havoc on the footballing world. Let's have some fun with it.
