My summary is this. All our incoming signings were spot except for Martial. I cant comment on his potential because I honestly don't know anything about him. However Im willing to give LVG the benefit of the doubt and believe that he has scouted this guy for a sustained period. From what I read I think this guy is exactly what we need.
The De Gea situation was a mess. But we can now turn this into a huge positive and get the best keeper in the world playing his best football once again. No distractions.
This leads me on to what we have not done. Another top class striker and another top class centre forward would have tilted the balance of power in our favour in the PL. We haven't done this so the philosophy will now have to integrate our younger stars. Will this be enough? Im not sure. I also have serious reservations on squad numbers but only time will tell if this will be an issue or not.

Thread comparing our squad with other teams, when it's written down like this it doesn't look as bad as feared, couole of bad injuries could change this though

My ranking of teams from the comparison: Goalkeeper: United = Chelsea > Arsenal >City = Spurs > Liverpool Centre Backs: City = Chelsea > United = Arsenal > Liverpool = Spurs Full Backs: United > City > Chelsea = Liverpool = Arsenal > Spurs Central Midfield: United = Chelsea = Arsenal > City > Spurs = Liverpool AM/Wingers: City = Arsenal > United = Chelsea > Liverpool > Spurs Forwards: Chelsea = City > Arsenal = United >= Liverpool = Spurs DDG situation has completely turned the GK situation on its head. GK, Full backs & CM are our strengths. Though AM is good, City take the cake for me. It pains me to see how a quality striker could have seen us dominating the charts. City look really strong this season with heavy spending, but have made good acquisitions in Sterling, KDB & Otamendi. Spurs will fade away barring heroics from Kane & Eriskson. Liverpool again look too have assembled quantity rather than quality. Arsenal being Arsenal, will remain challengers without a sustained fight. Similar to our situation, a quality striker could have changed their fortunes.

Looks good to me except Pool maybe ahead of us up front with Benteke & Chelsea maybe ahead of us with winger/attacking midfielders but both are close. Not a bad squad. The foundation is there for years to come. Some of these players will be regarded as World Class in a few years.

I would probably rate them on par with us. Many of the top teams would lose points to mid-table teams this season. The Westhams, Swanseas, Saints and Barcodes are going to help in making the title chase really close.

The big point here is the currency in which the transaction is made while buying and selling. If the transaction was made in Sterling and we paid £60m to RM, currency risk is passed to them. Eg. If the GBP/EUR rate was 1.20 while buying, RM convert it into Euro and receive 72m Euros (60*1.2). On the other side, if the rate was 1.4, RM would have received 84m Euros (60*1.4). So, the currency benefit for the would have been 12m Euros. We still pay £60m nevertheless and are not concerned about the currency rate then.

Aye, the bulk of the squad fixing is done now. Just a couple tweaks and we should be sorted. Definitely not getting Bale, Ronaldo or Varane now either.

Good news! Another signing! Some sort of technological thingy based in India HCL Tech. They are going to set up an innovation lab at Old Trafford.

Have you seen Season 5 Episode 10? Probably the best episode in the whole show! Really impressed that they could pull off such a great episode after so long (and with at least 2 seasons still to go).
