Tuchel agrees to sign for England. Another manager option gone for us. You just know we’re gonna end up with Ruud. played for us club legend gets the club the United way the fans won’t turn on him. ticks all the boxes for our fans.

Tuchel must have had serious issues with the structure and lack of control at Utd. He turned us down in the summer and by picking England he’s effectively turned us down again as ETH is a dead man walking.

There was talk he didn't fancy the squad either, he thought some of the players wasn't good enough and he's true in thinking that, I personally don't think he's the one to take us forward but he certainly would have gave us a lift for a season or two, not sure who we even go for mind you but pretty much every other team in the league play better football then we do, we either need to go big and go for Zidane give him what ever he wants or go left field with our appointment, the recent talk of Eddie Howe worries me and it's nearly as bad as Southgate.

ETH is still here for one of two reasons. They don’t want to look stupid giving him a new contract and are digging their heels in. Our new ownership believes he can turn this around. Either is the stuff of craziness/incompetence/nightmares.

They'll all be up his arse the moment they start performing.

Brought this point up earlier. Don't recall the same uproar with Sven either. Harry Redknapp saying they should have contacted Gerrard or Lampard 😂. Hell of an example why they should stick with an English manager.

Sam Alladyce moaning about it yet he completely fucked it for himself. i wouldnt have been against Potter or Howe but Howe wasnt available. if i was potter and i applied i would have been devastated

There hasn't been one English manager since Harold Wilkinson whos won an English league title and I'd argue that one was pretty lucky by the way. Countries like Spain don't have to recruit from abroad because the game is full of top coaches.

Hell of an example why they should stick with an English manager. There was loads of uproar about Sven. They tried to embarrass him in his first press conference, asking him shite like who Charlton Athletic’s LB is. He was England’s first foreign coach, there was much the same sort of tired rhetoric as we’re seeing now, but worse as the press could get away with more back then. It was deemed a disgrace, out to get him from day one. The perception eased after he got that result in Germany. The morons were more willing to accept a foreign manager after he’d guided them to victory over the “old enemy”. Press were always out to get him. That’s a feature of being England manager though. They all find that out.

There will definitely be pressure on Tuchel. Southgate was incredibly lucky always getting easy draws which meant he could often get to the semis or finals before getting eliminated by the first big team he came up against. Sven and Capello always seemed to get the likes of France or Brazil or Argentina in last 16 or last 8 so got knocked out earlier in the competitions.
Then again as people have pointed out if Tuchel can produce a major scalp then he'll soon get the fans onside.
And interesting how things have changed that Tuchel quite sensibly sees the England job as a better chance to win a big trophy within a few years than the Manchester United job.

I'll look forward to watching England in the next break, than I will watching United in the games before that
