He’s been found out and he’s doing the only thing he knows. Deflection with PR.

He’s been found out and he’s doing the only thing he knows. Deflection with PR. once Ratcliffe has his team in place along with their choice of manager(the incumbent or new one)he needs to contact every agent of every player and tell them “this is now our structure and you are either on or off the bus, so downing tools isn’t going to get the manager sacked but will get you transfer listed instead”. Or in plain speak “either get with program or fuck off out the club”.

www.skysports.com/football/news/12037/13059890/erik-ten-hags-biggest-problem-at-man-utd-is-the-lack-of-a-clear-identity-on-the-pitch-why-pursue-this-style-of-play This is a pretty good read and gets to the crux of the issue. Recruitment will improve once Dan Ashworth gets on board. And you'd hope there would be an inquest into the injury problems so they don't recur in future seasons. But the real question is does Erik have a clear tactical vision that he can implement with a better support system around him? And does he have the man-management skills to get players to buy into it? Having said that hiring someone like Potter would be a step backwards. Maybe he'd do a better job with a mediocre squad as he's used to coaching midtable clubs. But his ceiling would be very low and he wouldn't get us back to winning ways. Just look at Moyes. Only 2 points behind us in the table despite West Ham's vastly inferior financial resources to ours. And before we hired him he overachieved at Everton getting them into top 4 on occasion. But that doesn't make him suitable to manage a big club as we found out all too quickly. And Potter has already failed his big club audition at Chelsea. I would rather we make Erik more accountable and help him come up with an improvement plan identifying the way he wants to play, the profile of players he needs to do so, and get the recruitment right over the next two summers to deliver on that plan.
