Taking a little positive stance, one thing I like about this squad is we do have a lot of adaptable players. Folk who can perform well in a variety of positions. It's something I didn't realise the importance of really.

That's great in theory except Martial doesn't hang on the shoulder of the last defender, virtually ever. The ball is almost certainly not going to come (too risky, too much like an attacking pass) and with Rooney playing even it the pass does come it'll be overhit or underhit or straight to an opposite coloured shirt.
