Im not arsed if im honest, my view point is im not sure we wanted him in the 1st place, if we did see him as our N0:-1 priority we would have paid the asking price and snapped him up already. But say we did want him, an he chose city over us, then so what ! i dont want any more mercenaries playing for my club, i only want people that want to play for the shirt 100% Have to agree that a striker seems like the highest priority, after Rooneys insipid performances of late. Now that is the glass half full version.

It really does seem like it was Ramos or nothing when it came to CBs this window. We shall soon see how good a plan that was....

And with the upgrades in front of the backline, our CB's just became miles better. Having Morgan and Schweini handling this area of the defensive third is exactly the kind of coverage we have been lean on. I think the only possible transfer would be a striker, and one that is of world class quality....

Unless we fix the front line (ie drop Rooney) we are going to struggle to put teams away. And as we all know that bites you in the arse eventually. If that Villa header from a corner had gone in we'd have drawn a game we should have won comfortably.

Ramos or bust. An odd strategy. Let's hope the Blind experiment isn't short sighted.

Probably, when we qualify for the champions league proper P.M.A and the games rack up and against better opponents he'll probably regret that stance, wish he'd take a good look at stones, got the potential, youth on his side is English and would be fully aware of utd and what it means to play for us, that and it would stop chelsea having him, double whammy imo makes our squad better and weakens a rival. But if not then put the money saved into a decent striker..............

If we win the title and go far in cups it may be forgotten but I think the plan was pathetic. 1. When you get rid of cassilas you really aren't gonna get rid of Ramos unless the bid is ridiculous, real fans would t care enough about a goalkeeper to see it as a blow softner when Ramos is sold. 2. DDG has 1 year left on his contract!!! Has always pined to go back to Spain so for use to think we would get Ramos or a world record fee was either madness or our strongest way of saying no. 3. We should have left Ramos out of it and just negotiated a deal to sell, buy a keeper that would like to play for us (there are too keepers out there). 4. Rant over, we got mugged.

Still think it was a tactic to help Ramos to screw Madrid over for some serious money. Think it was a good tactic. Don't think we thought he was coming here. Just unsettling Madrid. Everything is so negative. We've just got to sign a forward.

Maybe the plan wasnt to acquire Ramos but instead keep DDG for at least another season as no goalkeepers of the quality we need are available at this point in time , Use Ramos's contract dispute as a way of keeping Madrid at bay from coming in for DDG . I would prefer us to bring in a cb and really wanted Otamendi but if we have DDG back in goal this season with Morgan and Bastian / Carrick patrolling the area , And Smalling playing the way he is then maybe the current CB issue isn't as desperate as first thought .

Maybe van Gaal rates Blind and Smalling more than Otamendi. I'm concerned about how those two would focus and see off any assault from the likes of Aguero, Costa and Sanchez. We've not conceded a goal yet though so far this season.....
