Can only hope we reckon a deal can be done sharpish, so will work for Bastian, whilst keeping this in the back pocket. Think that's the glass half-full version Tatt. Apologise!!

Southampton have said there have been no new bids. We're going to fuck this up over Schwiensteiger. Or, based on this new, non-leaking United, Soton are keeping in line with our wishes to keep things quiet?

I don't understand this craze about schweinsteiger. I am not doubting his quality but is he a long term fix? And the hold up in schneiderlin's deal might imply that it's a case of either/or. Schneiderlin is needed. Schweinsteiger is wanted.

Or Schweinsteiger is the short term fix to see how Strootman fares over the next few months?

I'm guilty of it myself so I'm going to stop linking Schwein with Morgan. Schweinie is still a smashing player, would be a leader and a warrior in the middle. His injury record is a concern but when fit he is still absolute top drawer.

There could be worse lads to have in the centre of the park. Him and Carrick will have a field day against a lot of teams

Or Schweinsteiger is the short term fix to see how Strootman fares over the next few months? Or LvG has his eye on a young player that he can have working with Schweinie that he feels will be world class. That has been LvG's "thing" identifying a young player and bringing him along. LvG has always said he likes working with young players, and I think his track record is pretty impressive

Still think Morgan will be next, Hope so, the trio of a fully Bastion, Morgan and Herrera would be a match for anyone. (although always wished for Vidal)

Still hope we go back in for him, even with Schwein looking very likely. There is a tiny part of me that likes the idea of walking away from deals where the clubs puff their chest out at 'not serious bid', leave them with their want away player. Maybe it because of Fergie, who identified the player he wanted then went after him, led to the Man Utd tax. LvG has a bit more of identify the type of player he wants, so theres more wriggle room.
That said I'd still rather we just got him as well, to build for the future. Getting both would be a rather dramatic turnaround for our midfield quality and depth over 2 years. He looks like a player we'd inevitably regret not signing.
