SSN just now said "sources claim we have met the asking price" Which probably means we have paid more than we should of, as per normal.

If he does half as much as the last player we signed from Torino, we'll have a good player.

I just cry at that Fee for Nani, I mean 3.5 mill for a player with his name and history in this climate is shocking. i actually commented on something similar on Twitter, forget 3.5 million sale figure, united would have gained at least £14 million pound give or take, don't forget we paid 100% of his wages last season and he had 3 more to go.. if he was on £5 million a year thats £15 million (plus the 5 million at Sporting so make that 20million) in wages gone and lets be honest no "mid table" team in the UK will pay 100k a week these days due to FFP.. so actually getting any money for him is good business. So if he has the same wage in Turkey, then he is costing them £20 million But thats not related to Darmian Seen a few clips of him on Youtube now looks a very decent player... we shall wait and see

This is an odd one. Came out of nowhere, all the media jump on it but hasn't been closed. Not sure if this is media bollocks, fishing by the agent or we genuinely buy him.
I need to ban myself from the internet

sportwitness.ning.com/forum/topics/star-to-take-train-to-manchester-united-to-complete-transferStar to take train to Manchester United to complete transfer Turin newspaper Tuttosport are in no doubt that Matteo Darmian's move to Manchester United is almost done. On Wednesday they headline their article on it 'Bye Bye Darmian' and go on to say he's off to Manchester United for about €18m. In the text, their first line is 'Matteo Darmian is to come to Turin, board the flight to London and then take the train to Manchester.' Things couldn't be much more convincing, Manchester United are said to be waiting with open arms to welcome Darmian and let him start his new adventure in the Premier League. Yet Tuttosport don't say a deal between the two clubs is done, they just say it's very nearly done. Very very. The two clubs have come much closer on price and Torino's proposal to Manchester United of €18m plus a further €2m in bonuses looks set to be accepted. The amount sees both clubs win because Torino originally wanted €20m and Manchester United wanted to show prowess in negotiations and get the amount down, despite it being relative pennies in their transfer budget. Tuttosport reckon they've been given the impression the move is imminent and they say the Premier League club are very confident that things can be done and done quickly. A few personal details need to be sorted but Tuttosport claim they even know what those are - the use of a car and decision over image rights split. Short of mocking him up in a Manchester United shirt they couldn't be much clearer.

I'm not sure some people are grasping how big of a deal this would be if it came off. This guy should be going to Juve and staying there for the rest of his career. It's the equivalent of going to Germany and signing the best German player in a particular position instead of them going to Bayern.

If we get hold of Darmian, Ramos & Otamendi, I wont care whether DDG is at goal or Phil Jones

No point getting excited about someone I'd never heard of a couple of weeks ago. I'll get excited when he plays
