Ousting Rooney will be worth every penny. Yep, and a few more besides. Not convinced that's going to happen though.

Rooney will play #10 and Martial #9. This would be my guess

3 mins, 15 secs. Contrast that with the piece of shit Rooney served up at the end of the game yesterday.

Nothing against the kid but 8 goals in 31 in french football???. But when I really look at the transfer market, where the hell are all the great strikers who aren't at Barcelona, Real Madrid or other big clubs?. People say he's quick, thats really all I know.

He is more interested in hair transplants so he does not go bald than finding the back of the net.

Its another example of the club making a complete hash yet again, he may turn out to be mega but thats a big if. It's alot of money for a kid that hasn't played that much top flight football in france never mind international football.

Fuck the money, its a gamble I would take on the young lad, anything better than Rooney. We would be lucky to get a packet of peanuts for Rooney if he decided to do a runner and wanted away. If Rooney was that hot then why did no club make a bid for him 3 years ago? Its because they would not touch him with a 10 foot barge pole. Lets wait and see anyway.

Pat Nevin has just been talking on the Off the Ball sports show on Newstalk radio in Ireland.
He's seen Martial a number of times and says he's a genuinely a brilliant player. He has said he's young but he's a cracking signing for us.
If I can find the podcast link over the next couple of days i'll post it.

We don't have a number 9 and also a number 11 . Are loaned players numbers reserved for them in the squad?

It's Martial Law. This cunt is fast and strong and 19 AND can score goals. We fucked up on the rest, but this is happening and I'm going to back him. I want him immediately up front against Liverpool...with our 'marquee' signing tomorrow because surely this cannot be it? I'm quite excited to be honest. Bring on the bin-dipping Scum!!!!

Martial's fee is 36mil. Hazard's fee in 2012 was 32mil. Sure Hazard had shown more in Ligue 1, but he was still only 21. Every single player signed outside of La Liga or Serie A will have the "can they survive the EPL" tag slapped on them. I believe it would be reasonable that the expectations of Martial to be similar to Hazard in terms of growth rate and development.
While I am definitely in the boat of "Who the hell is Martial?", I see this. Of the player signed since LVG started, we signed unknowns in Rojo, Blind, Depay, Darmian. Have turned around Young and Fellaini. Without LVG, Depay never comes here, nor does Schweini. Compare that to our flops- Di Maria who clearly just didn't want to fit in with LVG (whether rightly or wrongly is moot), and Falcao, who was a LOAN. Expensive loan or not, that is irrelevant because the loan fee was a drop in United's bucket.
Gotta love that strike rate so far! So as a club fan, I am willing to have faith in the club's judgment of signing the lad at such a fee. GGMU!
