The good thing about LVG is that he really backs the young players at a club and helps them break into the first team. Oh, wait. If thats the case then 29 is young I think you'll find Young is 30

Don't see what the issue is, he'll be playing regularly - he's not even making match day squads atm and if we have a recall option it'll be an invaluable experience to play on a weekly basis for a team that will hopefully be challenging for promotion.
Why are people overreacting like this, we can't keep a youngster in the reserves just because we're short on squad players - hence the recall option.
Win-win, he'll waste away on the bench and in the u21 league, which is piss poor.

This loan deal for Wilson will be good for him because it's about the level he is at and I can't see him gettin much further I started reading that and I thought "hooray you've finally made your first positive post." Then I finished reading.

Being on verge off joining Barcelona then ending up at Derby? ..... No-one said he was on the verge of joining Barca. Why am i even bothering. You think Rooney is still a decent player which says it all about your judgement.

We have literally one option as a forward (and I use that under severe duress) and that is Fellani. Fellani.

I was told on here that they were one of numerous top sides that wanted sign him lol. Wilson will simply never achieve anything like Rooney has achieved in his footballing career. Simples. Love how matter of fact you seem to rate your opinion, kudos man.

They did want to sign him. But there's a huge difference between wanting to sign someone and being on the verge of signing someone. We wanted to sign Bale, it doesn't mean he was on the verge of joining us.

Maybe Herrera stays at 10, Rooney continues his comedy act at No 9. Or Martial comes in at 9, Rooney goes back to being slightly less horrible at 10. Memphis might go back to 10 but he was fairly ordinary in there. So if we are losing, or god forbid, a striker gets injured, what do we do? We Fellani, that's what. We get to see German world cup winners hitting 50 yard long balls into touch. Again.

So hang on- we now have 2 strikers, one of whom has never played a minute of football in England and the other is fucking useless. Lunacy. Still say start of false-9 4-3-3 . . The decisions being taken seem to be all headed for in that direction

i should say that despite my concerns articulated a couple pages back i'm curious to see what happens and prepared to see LVG's tenure through. i think most of us agree that the first 11 needs a couple of players and the squad needs about 4 players (less if those out on loan return). we all wanted it done for the coming season but if done at the start of next season, we have the squad places and wages available to bring the right players in.
i do think he is setting us up for a run at everything next year, but in order for that to be enough he needs to be able to secure CL football from this season, and that's where my concerns lie right now.
