Far as this whole thing with Wilson goes, he needs to get playing time, he is on recall, and I expect he will do well at Derby and be back to United in reasonably short amount of time. If he is 3rd choice and if he isn't good enough to start for Derby then I don't quite understand the whinging going on over his transfer. If he can't win starting spot at Derby then he is never going to be good enough for United, might as well find that out right now as continuing to burn $$ on his development right?? The "dreary" football being played, with the players seeming to overthink the passes too much,. hells bells! How fooking long have they been playing together ?? Regardless of training, match time is where players get used to each other. Is the hesitation LvG's tactic? Is he saying, hold the fooking ball up and miss the passes?? If so, hang the dutch muppet and get it over with. Or could it be that the players are still getting used to each other and looking better week after week?? An we can expect to see them rolling along here by around mid October?? I think the latter, but I am inclined to always want to think the best of the club I support. Rant over Thats true Grampy and I am sure he will get playing time there. I am moaning about this transfer for 2 reasons 1. I feel that he would have got game time here with CL and other competitions and the squad is not so big. He could have been used as sub and given a start occasionally. If we wanted to loan him we should have done that last season when we had all those strikers. Even though there is a recall clause I don't see LVG using that unless we suffer too many injuries, he will play other players like Memphis, Fellaini etc as No.9 if we had injuries to Rooney and Martial. 2. I am worried LVG doesn't rate him at all. All the players LVG sent on loan are sold the next season. LvG gave him a top rating in his Presser today, same for Adnan. The public praise is something he doesn't do often for anyone, so I believe it is true. But could all be a moot point, read that Rooney "felt" his hamstring and I would expect, with Willo still there, that he'll be starting against the scousers, and I expect with the service he will get provided by Ander Memphis and Juan that he'll get a chance to step up like we think he is capable of. Hamstrings are "touchy" and this might just be the start of something excellent for United as a whole. Don't want to wish injury on any player, but would like to see Willo and Martail step in and show what they can do. I think United's midfield is world class as a Unit, looking forward to tomorrow more than ever now

Mmmmm:
Manchester United are keeping hold of striker James Wilson at present, Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has revealed.
A whole host of Championship clubs have been chasing Wilson's signature on loan, a group which includes Derby County, Cardiff City and Wolves.
Manchester United are short on strikers after allowing Javier Hernandez, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao to leave over the summer, but signing just Anthony Martial to replace the trio.
As a result, Wilson is not being allowed to leave, Jackett has revealed, something which marks a U-turn of sorts by Manchester United.
The Wolves boss was quoted as saying by the BBC: "The information is he's not available. Manchester United are keeping him for the time being.
"There have been a number of clubs who have enquired about him and at one stage they had been saying perhaps he could go", Jackett added.
Wilson, despite being highly rated at Old Trafford, has yet to feature for Manchester United in the current campaign, which led to talk of him leaving on loan to clock up regular game time.
But Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal wants to keep Wilson at the club at present, leading to doubt over a loan spell before the new year for the 19-year-old.

Van Gaal knows. Rooney is finished as a number 9.
Also, the manager clearly discovered RoM was kicking off and thus changed his stance.

Nev was quite blunt last night when he voiced the question of 'where is Wilson and why was there no striker on the bench?' Given Nev's place in the sun, if he doesn't know who does? This whole subject is accumulating mystery. I hope he's being held back for a major intervention because this lightweight squad will need an extra striker as we kick on and the lads tire.

McNair/Tony and Rojo/Jones should suffice on the bench. Provides cover for 4 positions. Plus Carrick, Young, Pereira and Wilson. Thats' what I will have. Afro or CC is just a waste as they offer nothing whatsoever.

I know its not a popular opinion, but I would have Fellaini on the bench in most of the games. Agreed though that it doesnt need to be at the cost of Wilson's exclusion.

Afro found a place last season when we had a virtual midfield and our forwards were dieting. Now he's gone back to being a square peg and has looked confused as a sub. MF isn't a game changer, whereas Wilson possibly is.

Not having another striker on the bench is ludicrous. We may have 'other' players who can play up top, but that doesn't make them a striker.
Were is Wilson is a head scratching question, and one that those brain dead writers at lvg's presser need to ask.... We all want the answer....

He scored last night in the under 21's 3-1 win against the toffee's and set up one of the other goals. SET and a few others watched the match so they could tell us more how he played but looking at the official match report from United he had a good game. I am fucked in what more he can do to convince LVG he is far better than captain wonder balls. Stick Rooney in the U21's.....no, second thoughts on that one, knowing Rooney he would fuck the U21's up. Sell him back too the toffee's, I would love him too fuck them up and they get relegated.
