Aware I am talking bourbon not whiskey so throw me out if I'm breaking laws! Not much of a whiskey drinker, but my Dad is. When I went to the US in 2018 I got him a bottle of Blanton's bourbon and he loved it, said it was right up there with some of the best whiskies he'd had. Managed to find another bottle for Christmas this year. Just wondering if anyone here who is much more versed in the liquid than I am knows of any similar brands I could introduce him to? I got a bottle of Woodford reserve bourbon for my birthday and it was fantastic. I think it’s available in quite a few places. You could check out the world whiskey awards, they have lots of sub categories. The Irish ones they choose are almost always spot on so the bourbons would be equally good and not ones you might know. You could order some of them online I imagine. Speaking my motherfucking language right there. Best bourbon I have had BAR NONE. If there's something better than this I'd love to know.

Yeah it's very good. I currently have buffalo trace. Very nice. Not too harsh.

Woodford is the dream but I would also recommend Old Forester.
I went to the Jim Beam Stillhouse while I was in Kentucky a couple of years back. The smells were to die for.

A dream of mine to do a tour of distilleries in Kentucky. Old Forrester is very good, I agree. Not among my top 5 but very good. Makes a damn good Old Fashioned.

If I might- there’s an amazing gin from Ireland called Drumshanbo. If you get a chance to grab a bottle I’d absolutely recommend it. Nicest gin I think I’ve ever tasted. There’s oriental tea in it, it’s sublime.

There’s oriental tea in it, it’s sublime. There is a severe gin drought in these parts. Fucking tired of people thinking Bombay Sapphire is the only gin on the planet.

Woodford Reserve is my favourite ever Bourbon, Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, and Wild Turkey are also worth a look, I find Jack Daniels far too harsh these days, probably after drinking the aforementioned brands!
