Hopefully he'll break all Rooney's records.

Hopefully he'll break all Rooney's records. So then he can become equally as great as Captain Wayne Rooney?

He just reminds me of Ruud. More like Andrew Cole for me, moves around the box like he did especially when he has the ball at his feet. He's got more pace than either but i don't think he'll be a Ballon D'or type of player. I think he'll just be a pure ruthless goal scorer. Think of the people like Ruud and Lewandowski and Aguero. I hope he'll be that type and think he can be. Don't want to hype him. Just think he can, not he is. Owen was similar at the same age. Hopefully he can avoid injuries.

There are players that come along that you simply can't help but hype up. Marcus is one of those. If he continues to trend in the direction he is doing he's going to be a hell of a player. I disagree with the idea that he's not a ballon d'or type player. I think he has absolutely everything that you want in an attacking player. He's not just a ruthless finisher, he has flair, plenty of skill and a touch of brilliance.
Above all that, the one thing that stands out more than anything that convinces me he'll fulfil his potential is his attitude. Seems completely grounded and just eager to keep his head down, learn and keep getting better.
I really believe this kid is the real deal!

Isually when I think Ballon D'or the first thing I think if is the dribbling skills of young Ronaldo, Brazillian Ronaldo, Messi, Zidane, Kaka, Ronaldinho. Rashford can't develop that skill, he doesn't have it. I'd say Martial has more of it and he's probably short of being a Ballon D'or winner too. That said you have Owen winning it and Beckham coming second twice so it's not impossible I just don't think we'll have an English one for a while. If he concentrate of goals he'll be one hell of a player and that's all that matters.

He may not possess the same level of dribbling skill as Ronaldo and the likes but he's certainly not short on it. He's more direct with his dribbling (doesn't stand there doing 10 step overs before trying to take a man on), which has proved to be incredibly effective so far. In fact I'd say he's more effective in that area and most areas for that matter than what Ronaldo was at his age, who was very hit and miss early on.
You've also got to consider how he's already scaring the life out of most defences. He's going to get bigger, stronger and obviously more experienced. When I think Ballon d'or I think players that on their day are just simply unplayable. He's already shown signs of this and will continue to do so as he matures both mentally and physically. He'll score a boat load of goals a season and as he's shown in his short career so far (both youth and senior), he has a penchant for fantastic goals.
I'm not saying I expect him to win the ballon d'or but if we're successful and he fulfils his potential I think he'll definitely contend it in the future.

I mean you can say Ronaldo was hit and miss and a show pony but he had extreme talent in dribbling and still was not as good as some of the others i mentioned. It's a good discussion to have but Giggs and Rooney never really got in the discussion for Ballon D'or so it tells you the level of talent that's involved. Suarez with 50 goals a season isn't going to win it I don't think.
Rashford deserves the start against City but I think he'll come on as sub otherwise we have to change a winning formation. Think he'll start against Feyenord.

Hopefully he'll break all Rooney's records. And legs, never forget about the legs.

SAF and the coaching staff seen the talent and worked on Ronaldo and we all know the rest as the years rolled on. I can't say he reminds me of Ronaldo, Ruud or Cole or others as them players had their own special talents, but Rashford has an old git like me tingling inside that he could become one of the world's best players if he keeps his feet firmly on the ground and continues on the way he is going. To me, it's his vision and speed, he can read the play 5-6 steps ahead then will decide what he has to do anyway, it's my opinion only and others may differ.

I'm not sure that's true...I am pretty sure I remember some of the Academy players saying he has skills and tricks that he hasn't shown yet...apparently he feels he needs to be more established before risking it...may or may not be true...

Think he'll start against Feyenord. Lets face it, Ballon d'or is dependent on success in Europe as much as anything. If we don't win the Champions League or come close to winning it, nobody will have a chance of winning it. Messi and Ronaldo have dominated it for the last 7/8 years and they're both at the tail end of their careers, so it's up for grabs from the next batch of players coming through. Neymar will probably be next in line but he's not as good as the 2 previously mentioned, so I don't believe he'll dominate the award like they have. It's not stupid to discuss the possibility of Rashford winning it in the future (again I must stress IF he keeps progressing), same goes for Pogba and Martial, who in my opinion also possess the potential to contend the award and again, all dependent on the success of the team. It's refreshing to have a serious discussion about something like this again. The last 3 seasons, talking about whether a player possesses the potential to win the Ballon d'or hasn't been remotely on anyone's mind.

He definitely has skills and dribbling ability. Just not on that level.
