Hey guys, didn't see a thread about this yet. I am from Chicago and I got tickets for all four games at soldier field. A couple of friends are gonna meet up before the games at a bar. If anyone from Chicago wants to join you are all more than welcome too!

Certain South American players won't get a break for years. I think the schedule has really taken a toll on players like Alexis Sanchez, who clearly just needs a long rest. An extra Copa does no favours to those players, especially if they're going to the Olympics too.
2013: Confederations Cup
2014: World Cup
2015: Copa America
2016: Copa America & Olympics
2017: Confederations Cup
2018: World Cup
2019: Copa America

My only joy for this cup is to help Gabigol's development. Talented kiddo. Santos FC has some fresh talented youth there now.

I was looking forward to some actual football on in the evening, but 2 1/2 matches and only 1 goal, and a lot of experimental squads?!? How seriously are South Americans taking this?

I'm pretty sure there's a new 7-1 about to happen as call ups are based on agents and not talent.
Shameful. 5 times world champion needs referee help to pass through Ecuador. Only CONCACAF teams are taking it seriously and this is not good.
Not that I'm fond of this purely money grabbing edition, but it's still Copa América and it's ridiculous how they are just... experimenting.

From what I saw the ball looked out, but still, you've seen those not given. You guys are prioritizing the Olympics, which I supposed is to be expected considering it's the only title you haven't won.
Is this still viewed as the Copa in Brazil even though it's a purely cash grab stateside? And, is Dunga gone before the Olympics if they don't perform well here? He's not too popular from what I hear.

Yes, but it hasn't the same trophy hunt, although everyone watches it nearly asleep, as it was a movie you put on TV when you prepare yourself to sleep. I'm not sure on the second one  by the will of people, he'd be out long ago. It depends on the infamous CFB. They've approached Tite (Corinthians manager) a while ago, but he refused. Think he will be out after the olympics. |
