Bollocks to that, a club like Everton don't deserve a player like Juan. Pretty sure if we did decide to sell him, there'd be more appealing clubs in Spain or Italy who would come knocking. I'd honestly rather accept a lesser bid from someone like Atletico or Roma than sell him to them. He's far too good for them. However, if he's been told he's surplus and wants to stay in England (for whatever reason) he may not have much choice. We wouldn't sell to our main challengers, and I doubt we'd entertain a Spurs bid either (not that they need him that I can see). But I agree, common sense says Europe calls.

Mata would be a massive signing for Everton, but he deserves to be playing somewhere far better if we do let him go.

Have a bad feeling about Mata, Memphis, Blind and Schweinsteiger will be let go. Especially Mata and Blind cos they also represent the vG era..To be honest, nothing will hurt me as much as seeing Becks leave

Memphis is a potential star...just don't lose him.. possible Reverse Cantona effect. Blind an asset to any side and one who will be willing to be a bit part player one you could do with for his versatility, intelligence and fitness.

Mourinho rates experience, look at Terry, Drogba, Lampard, Makalele etc. The first business he did here was give Carrick a new contract. I'd be very surprised if he let Bastian go. One of the few serial winners we have in the squad.

I actually don't think he'll be looking to actively sell many players to be honest, if any. He may let certain players go if offers are received that we deem acceptable though. He may also let a couple go out on loan, Wilson and Pereira are the main ones that spring to mind. Pereira in particular could really do with going getting some first team football for a season. Not because I don't think he could have an impact here but because he's at an age where he doesn't want to be sitting on the bench every week or even sometimes not on the bench at all.
LVG left our squad a little thin as it was so I don't see people having to make way for these new signings, we're just giving ourselves a better squad size, which we need with Europa to contend with as well.

Having just watched Fellani play against Wales reinforces my feeling that he's a dirty, mostly useless piece of timber that should be exported ASAP

Going back to my original comment I have to rethink it a little. We've actually got a pretty large squad of what I consider first team players now. When you look at the squad we have now. I'd be going with a starting 11 of: De GeaValencia Smalling Bailly Shaw Schneiderlin Herrera Rooney (cos he WILL play whether I like it or not)Mkhitaryan Ibra MartialThat leaves us having to find 7 subs from: Romero, Mcnair, Rojo, Jones, CBJ, Varela, Darmian, Blackett, Blind, TFM, Basti, Fellaini, Young, Mata, Januzaj, Memphis, Pereira, Lingard, Rashford, Wilson. That also isn't including any further prospects coming through the youth/u21's like Tuanzebe or any further new signings, in which I believe we'll almost certainly bring in a central midfielder.
Without further new signings that still leave us with 31 players. Blackett will almost certainly be moved on which knocks us down to 30 and Wilson/Pereira and possibly even Mcnair are good candidates to be loaned out for a season, which leaves us at 27.
Looking at it like that I retract my original statement and say that a couple of players are almost certain to be moved on. I'd have preferred us to let Carrick go and I, like most, would be more than happy to see Rooney's time here come to an end. Those 2 are almost certainly not going to be moved on though.
You'd have to think 1 of Rojo/Jones goes. Young is an easy candidate to get rid of even though he's performed as consistently well in the last 2 seasons as most players in our squad have. I'd like to think Fellaini could also be shipped out but I think Jose will give him a chance. Rethinking it, I now think one of Darmian, Blind, Mata will be moved on, I know they're not comparable in terms of their position but they're also easy targets due to them not being your typical Mourinho type players physically, hope I'm wrong on all 3 of them though.
The next few weeks are going to be very interesting in terms of seeing how this squad starts to take shape.

This is what I would like to see for next season:
GK: De Gea, Romero
LB: Shaw, CBJ
CB: Bailly, Blind
CB: Smalling, Jones
RB: Darmian, TFM
CM: Pogba(please!)/New CM, Carrick
CM: Schneiderlin, schweinsteiger
CM: Mkhitaryan, Herrera
FW: Martial, Memphis
FW: Zlatan
FW: Rashford, Lozano/Lingard/Pereira
Young and Valencia kept around as experienced cover, everyone else in the first team picture binned off or loaned.

I have to say Rooney really is just a waste of a squad place now. There's not one position I think he SHOULD be starting in, nor is there one I think he should be sitting on the bench as back up for. If we bring in a central midfielder there shouldn't be a place for him. He's not in our top 2 strikers, number 10's or midfielders.
Amongst all the shit Moyes did, his handling of Rooney is by far the worst thing he did and the thing which is still fucking us over more than anything to this day. And that's including Fellaini!

I love Juan, wouldn't really like to see him playing against us in the league. The Everton rumours originate from Twitter ITK's so at this point I'd doubt them very much and he can do much better than them anyway.
Our squad is pretty small compared to the days of Sir Alex though then again Mourinho doesn't tend to rotate a huge deal so I think it'll be of similar size to last season. Our bench being something like Romero, TFM, Carrick/Basti, Herrera, Memphis, Lingard, Rashford. I'm not sure there's many game changers/options there so... again though as is there would more game time for Rashford, Timbo et al in different positions.
Once Micky is over the line I'd expect one or two more at least and then a few out.
Mata is at risk but I'd like to see him with Mkhitaryan, Martial/Memphis/Lingard in a three behind the striker, perhaps we will in pre season. Fellaini, Rojo, Young the others, possibly Darmian and Blind I'm a little worried for but we'd be crazy to get rid of him.

Changing your tune Jamie, come on now. Strikers not now with Ibra, Martial and Rashford. 10/Mids he's hanging on for now

Rumours of Mata to Everton €25m, if true then fuck that.
I'd sell him anywhere else for that price to help him find a better club but fuck giving Everton a fair price for a player
