If that's addressed to me you are spectacularly missing the point. One can protest the policies, ideas, and agenda of Trump w/o protesting the results of the election - which is what I am doing, and others are doing, and what Charles Blow mentioned in his opinion piece. Not addressed to anyone in particular, but you still can't change shit with a few banners and some shouting. If it ever got close to changing it do you think the people who did vote for Trump would just let it go? They would see your shitty protests and fuck you all over 10 fold while smashing the shit out of their/your own country.
People who did vote for Trump are considerably outnumbered by the Clinton voters (over 2 million at current count, and fact is, since Trump has already reversed himself on many of his "promises", (he is not going to prosecute Clinton, He will keep an open mind on climate change to name a couple) his own voters might just "protest" his lies. Far as Presidential elections, sometimes I think that the political parties are deliberately picking candidates that are really terrible. Seems almost like this allows our Congress to follow their own agenda (generally tied to the people that donate the most money to them) and point the finger of blame at the President to deflect attention from themselves. The large majority of voters in this country are really clueless as to how the Government works. hell, the American History the people of my age learned is far different from what is taught in school today. The protests concern me because they are being "directed" by groups that have their own agendas. Many of the "protestors" likely didn't follow the election close enough to know what the hell they are marchng for. What is more worrying to me is that there are now calls for an election audit. By Professors who are doing so with hints about how easy it would be to have fixed the election. 50,000 votes in the "right district could have been enough to rig it. Audit called for by Electoion experts**NOTE** DailyKOS is very liberally biased, and absolutely despise Trump. BUT, in this and other cases, what is being printed, while biased, is also factual. This is the kind of th9ng that can, and very likely will, incite further protests. I think that things here are going to get "hairy" EDIT** The choices Trump is making for his cabinet and other important positions are flat out frightening to a lot of people as well. It is going to be an interesting time here.

You should try reading the NY Times once in awhile. It's not as scary as you think it is. You'll be okay. You should try not being a complete condescending little prick sometimes. It's not as hard as you make it out to be. You may just come off as a decent person. Clever boy, look what you did! Congratulations.

If they did, they would have never chosen him.

Here's another good article, this one from Barbara Kingsolver in the Guardian. www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/nov/23/trump-changed-everything-now-everything-counts" It’s hard to guess much from Trump’s campaign promises but we know the goals of the legislators now taking charge, plus Trump’s VP and those he’s tapping to head our government agencies. Losses are coming at us in these areas: freedom of speech and the press; women’s reproductive rights; affordable healthcare; security for immigrants and Muslims; racial and LGBTQ civil rights; environmental protection; scientific research and education; international cooperation on limiting climate change; international cooperation on anything; any restraints on who may possess firearms; restraint on the upper-class wealth accumulation that’s gutting our middle class; limits on corporate influence over our laws. That’s the opening volley. "and "We refuse to disappear. We keep our commitments to fairness in front of the legislators who oppose us, lock arms with the ones who are with us, and in the words of Congressman John Lewis, prepare to get ourselves in some good trouble. Every soul willing to do that is part of our team, starting with the massive crowd that shows up in DC in January to show the new president what we stand for, and what we won’t.There’s safety in numbers, but only if we count ourselves out loud."

Probably be some muppets who didn't even freeking vote, but do want to loot Repub elite sold their party out to the Teabaggers and brought in a bunch of crazy people, same thing the Dems did with this Election. I think\ Bernie should have won it, but Hillary got shoved down a bunch of peoples' throats as well. Elections bring out crazy fookers from both parties. The Dems could not bring out their voters with Hillary, an they lost. bunch of fools. Should have put Bernie up and he would have kicked Trumps ass, of that I've very little doubt. Mainstream voters on both sides stayed home, for me looking at the numbers of voters who went to polls, there sure are a lotta people in this country that are crazier than a bag full or rabid ferrets. We'll manage to survive it, an might even have major reduction in number of nuts running about.

Can't change it now, that's what the voting was for. Suck it up, everyone. Win, lose, right or wrong. You all made this happen. Now quit whining. I've personally quit whining a stepped away from this thread for about a week but we are now here to talk abiut his poliicies and what they will mean to people. The affect his campaign had on the U.S but others will come in here and carry on about how Trumps not responsible for anything and completely nissing the pount and ruining the discussion.

That would be another ridiculous promise that won't get kept. Trump will find out that the man doesn't run the office, the office and the world dictate how the man does things. Hell, he has already used his office to make a request for favor regarding business, and has made it fairly clear he will take advantage of it as he can, doesn't look like he will put anything in a blind trust. He starts doing questionable stuff, the people in his party that dislike him so intensely will be on hm like a weasel on a one legged chicken

Congratulations. Everybody take a deep breath and stop acting like Donald fucking Trump. Jill Stein has spearheaded a movement for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Over $ 2.5 million raised for Wisconsin and they need about $ 500, 000 for Michigan and $ 800, 000 for Pennsylvania, I think. Flip those states and things get interesting.

I'll say, as a guy who is Jewish and who voted for Trump. Bannon is not an anti-Semite at all. The only evidence is a divorce court case from years ago. Bannon has hired many Jews for his company and allowed Milo to be the star who he is a gay Jew from across the pond.

It's not as hard as you make it out to be. You may just come off as a decent person. The New York Times is a worthless newspaper company which lost all credibility for its stories which have been proven false. The Mainstream media wanted Hill to win because it keeps the status quo. They are not journalists but political hacks now. To my English friends on here, Trump and the Trump Whitehouse will put the special relationship we have had for years first. He loves Farage and see's the importance of a strong U.K and U.S relationship.

Big no no. Hope you are ready for the imminent backlash? I mean, i'm an idiot, don't ya know?

Haha, why not! I am ready for the liberals to come at me. Don't worry, at least you didn't have Facebook friends delete you over your political views or be called a racist, xenophobe, bigot or any other name in the book because you don't see the world the way they do. Hell, I was uninvited to a Thanksgiving dinner because I voted for Trump. Plus, the worst of it is at universities where if you are a conservative or leaning right at all, you will be hated, and you have to keep your head down. It is pathetic.

An idiot asks: Dare i ask (feel free to PM me if you don't want to say here, i would understand) but why did you vote Trump? If i was allowed to vote there then i, personally, would have voted for neither, but then i'm yet to meet a politician i would vote for. Ballots need to start putting a "no confidence" option on, IMO. I'd guarantee that option would get more votes than the rest of them.
