Trump is very unlikely to do time for yesterday's convictions.
The prosecution had to work hard with legal arguments to develop the misdemeanours into felonies, and a jail sentence would surprise most observers familiar with the context and precedents.
In any case, he will appeal, and the appeal has a good chance of downgrading the felony convictions back to misdemeanours.
That's all without even thinking about him winning and pardoning himself!

Speaks volumes to how fucked the Republican voter-base is, if this is the organism they want leading them. And Stew is right - they absolutely don't care.

What a shit show. Biden looked and acted 105 years of age and Trump lied literally every time he opened his fat mouth.

Biden, Jesus christ America. No. Trump. Jesus Fucking Christ America. An old guy is vastly preferable to a venomous liar and vicious idiot.

Also, well done republicans. The most memorable line your nominee spoke was “I didn’t have sex with a porn star” .
As for dems, I feel this will be yet another own goal.

The truly ironic thing is that if either party had picked a ‘normal’ candidate, they’d have walked the Presidency.

It's sad and scary but Trump is going to walk this election. Biden literally doesn't know where or indeed who he is 90% of the time.
Utterly pathetic by the dems that they are handing this to Trump, again.

Find it fascinating that Biden and Trump are the only "real" options for US voters.
My theory is it's a product of too much bipartisanship for too long, most of the electorate seem to consistently vote Red or Blue regardless of the issue.
In saying that, the USA has been a model for many democracies globally, their constitution in particular inspired many new and progressive nations (cheers for the separation of powers !), so it's facinating to watch.
I'd vote for RFK personally, the only dude with a hint of free thought + fresh ideas + that doesn't seem hell-bent on WWIII.
Anyway, wonder who the deep state will replace Biden with - earliest debate in US history, reckon they planned this annihilation to give the party enough time to prop up a replacement in time for the elections!

Used to agree, then watched that Woody Harrelson-narrated doccy on him, and honestly most of the stuff he's been on about over the last 3/4 years have been on the money. Add that to his formidable track record of taking on (and beating) big corporations in court (e.g. Monsanto), over years and years, and I'd be happy to vote for the nutjob personally! I know, I know, he's a drug addict who is controlled by a worm

He's not a nut job, his opinions on American foreign policy makes sense and supported by many experts on the subject

I think RFK was an option and even De Santis would be a better option than these two but there's something really wrong with both parties. Biden has always been a bozo and it shows you where American politics is when you feel obliged to hand the reins to Biden. Trump is a brand, in the same way cars or shoes are brands and despite lying through his ass, is going to walk into the white house. What's happening right now proves that serious Americans have no interest in politics or getting involved. Our own politics is exactly the same.

I find it hard to take someone seriously who still rides the anti vax train. Not to mention his group thinks fluoride in water, wireless communication and aluminum are public health hazards. That’s before we go into the several other medical denialist stuff 🤷♂️

Worth watching if you've not seen it, much of his "crazy" image has been carefully crafted by the MSM when he started to veer away from the narratives they control. x.com/AV24org/status/1787305104443342871
