and I respect your opinon my friend . Maybe I was not clear enough because I am assuming my target audience is generally from the United States. For example, if on campus if you do not share ideological views of a left-winger you will not be hired. They don't hire individuals who are conservatives, and they silence all opposition because discussing different ideas can "trigger students." At university, you are supposed to be subjected to different schools of thought, from Marks to Smith and to discuss these ideas. This is what it means to the public intellectual and a university student. Now it is not the case; you get fewer points on a paper for example if the professor disagrees with your opinion not the factual evidence for the subject. People are fighting PC, and the election was a backlash against the liberalism and globalism. Progressives are not open to debating ideas as shown and will label you something if you are for a different side. An excellent article which discusses these ideas are here: reason.com/blog/2016/11/09/trump-won-because-leftist-political-corrI think everyone is here for equal rights, although there is a difference between conservatives and the left in regards to opportunity and outcomes. Conservatives want everyone to have an equal chance to become as successful as they want. I don't care if you are black, white, orange or purple if you want to start a business do it. If you fail, that is on you. The left believes government knows the best how to run things and want people to be economically similar. Equal outcomes do not mean equal opportunity which is the fundamental difference between the two schools of thought. Trump is a businessman he created an empire and H was part of the system which people hated. Out of interest, what do you make of Trump's university settlement?

Trump is going to become president with a clean record and the other side feels like they got some money. Going to trial would have been terrible and costly. A settlement brushes it off and Trump can move on. He did do some shady business but I think if the counselor went to trial they would have lost. Overall, both sides won.

Aside from the 71 other pending lawsuits, he will be entering squeaky clean. Edit:69 lawsuits, he has managed to settle the other 3,500 though so there is hope he gets those cleared up in time.

Great thread, 99.99*% of the posts have gone way over my head, but interesting reading nevertheless.

You should try not being a complete condescending little prick sometimes. It's not as hard as you make it out to be. You may just come off as a decent person. The New York Times is a worthless newspaper company which lost all credibility for its stories which have been proven false. The Mainstream media wanted Hill to win because it keeps the status quo. They are not journalists but political hacks now. To my English friends on here, Trump and the Trump Whitehouse will put the special relationship we have had for years first. He loves Farage and see's the importance of a strong U.K and U.S relationship. You sure mate ? I have it on good authority that me and another idiot here are loons for finding the NYT as bad as we do. In fact, apparently, I don't even know what a proper newspaper would look like, d'oh ! Anyway, I see you voted Trump . Totally disagree with you but I'm not a US citizen so I've no right to say more and bleat my disapproval like some others out here. Tell me though, do you like Mike Pence ? He seems quite a sinister man. What about Planned Parenthood and coal mining ? These 2 issues are the most important ones to note imo. Obamacare's gone too I think ?

If you want a good Newspaper read the Guardian or the Wall Street Journal. Both require high-level reading comprehension and they are the most respected newspapers after the NYT. The WSJ is right wing because it is pro-business but many authors who write for it are extremely bright. The same goes for the Guardian, which is highly progressive but it makes you think. The NYT has apologized for its political attacks and their editor even wrote a piece to apologize for their actions over the political year. www.nytimes.com/2016/11/13/us/elections/to-our-readers-from-the-publisher-and-executive-editor.htmlMike Pence is an evangelical conservative who is an establishment Republican. Trump is not religious what so ever and having a stereotypical religious Republican is necessary to gather the votes to win. Plus, having an establishment fellow helped stop the Republican never trump squad. Me I love Mike Pence, the swagger he handled Hamilton crowd and how he helped Indiana become a powerhouse state is admirable. I am from Illinois which is a state terribly run which all our businesses are moving to Indiana because of Mike's Policies. His religious stuff is annoying, and some of the stuff about LGBT has been blown out of the water. Overall, I like him a lot, but there might be some worries, but he is only the VEEP.

I would have uninvited you aswell I would have invited you because I don't keep grudges based on political views. That's called being an adult. Ohh i definately do have grudges on some political views.reading your posts here might have changed my mind a bit,you seem a decent lad so i probably have invited you. BUT if you would have been someone who shares ideas of nationalsocialism, fascism or any other extreme right wing movement who thinks that deporting people, sending immigrants who just fought for their lifes back to their war afflicted countries and supports burning down refugee camps or facilities,i would have invited you just to break your face. That has nothing to do with being an adult.and theres the problem for me.i'm not saying you support one of the aforementioned views but in the end you voted for someone who would like to deport millions of foreigners and wants to build a damn wall between your country and mexico.you may have voted for him out of economical or business or financial views but i think you know what i'm talking about. And thats where my personal tolerance regarding political views finds its end.

Trump isn't a politician my friend. I can say it on here; it's the internet my feelings won't get hurt. The American leftist politics has become too progressive that they fundamentally believe that their views on how the world should work are fundamentally right. Everyone else is either a racist, bigot, xenophobe and anti-Semite. That is just plainly wrong. Furthermore, the liberal left has won the cultural war things must be PC on college campuses and even in the workforce because if you say something wrong you can be fired. This is why we are called the silent majority. A long good explanation of why I voted for Donald Trump was actually on Reddit on his supporters page. www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/comments/5bnmiu/undecided_voters_here_is_why_you_should_vote/You can vote however you want and this is just my opinion. The world is not getting too PC. Why should you be saying things on a campus or at work that could get you fired. You would have to say something pretty wrong to get fired for saying something. You might find a few obscure examples of people getting fired for no reason but in general there's an ettiquette at work and Uni that is common decency and should be adhered too. In your own home or with your mates drinking a beer say what the hell you want but you can't go to work saying all kinds of shit, that's how work works. People aren't fighting for PC. I don't give a flying fuck about PC. Equal rights for all people is right up the top of my list. Too progressive is also a term I don't understand. You want us to stop getting better? The world was not a better place in my Grandads time. I know that for a fact. The world absolutely has become far too politically incorrect. Hate speech and active discrimination, inciting violence against a articular set of people, stamp those out as much as possible. Preventing people from saying whatever the hell they like otherwise? That's what's really obscene. You're legislating on something that is subjective, entirely. What you find offensive I might not care about. What riles me up might mean nothing to you. If somebody wants to make a homophobic joke, let them. If people want to be racist, let them. Let them be wrong. Right minded people will recognise racism and act accordingly. Look at Michael Richards. People should just stop getting offended by things that at the end of the day really don't matter. If someone calls me a c*nt, and I get offended, nothing happens to me. I don't become sick and die. I also can't do anything about it because I'm not a woman or black or gay or Jewish or Catholic or really religious at all and "c*nt" doesn't fit into a specific category of anti-PC. If everybody stopped getting offended the people using the 'offensive' language will get bored or eventually just die out. Taking away the offence from a word or phrase intended to illicit offence, removes it's power. The majority of people need to just make it clear that instead of whining about being called mean names, we are going to deride the person saying it and move on with our lives. If, in Northern Ireland, somebody called me an Orange Hun Bastard I would laugh in their face. The 'battle' for equality is not the same as this ridiculous march towards bland as bland political correctness.

We hold ROM to a higher standard. We shut people down when they say anti gay things on here. That's not PC. Look at Family guy. That's an un PC show created by the biggest Hillary loving liberal. Nobody really cares about PC. I laugh at every un PC joke Paul makes. Politcally correct is bullshit. Most lefties don't give a flying fuck about it. If Januzajisking is arguing he wants to be able to call someone a faggot, not because he's homophobic or even wants to, but because he thinks words are words and we shoukd be able to say what we want and not have our freedom on speech impeded then let's get into a discussion about it and not hide behind PC. Otherwise no point even discussing PC.

Attackng someone in a personal way is bullshit and doesn't need to happen. I have Gay nephew an niece, and a grandkid Dianne and I raised from the time he was 5 is gay, figured it out when he was about 15.
When we're horsing around I might say you silly fag or something like that, but someone attacking him using the word in attempt to hurt would get the evil side of old grampy peering out at them. I see no reason to treat anyone with a lack of courtesy or just plain stupid meanness and that is one thing I am not terrible tolerant of, and my kids all grew up understanding why I don't like it..
It is easy to tell when someone is using a word like that in jest, or in conversation with a friend that understands how it is being used. as it is easy to tell when someone is being a nasty peckerhead when directing something at someone.
I'm glad that RoM doesn't tolerate that crap, it makes it a much better spot to come and chat.

My buds and I do it at the bar or when we hang out. Strong PC people want to dictate how conversations are more than just being polite. Yeah, you are right 100%!

Actually using it as an insult to put him down is something else. The idea you can say things to offend people and they are only words is strange to me. Legally you should be able to but expect me to swing if you deliberately say something to offend me. That's called being a cunt and I don't put up with cunts. When people would wind me up in school and I would refuse to take anymore I was in trouble for "retaliatng". Maybe Universities have now figured out that the best way is actually to discourage people from being cunts in the first place. Trump is no great example to the un PC crowd anyway. He's the most thin skinned person I've ever seen.
