Jay seems to be showing us how impartial he is by constantly focusing on one particular side. The side that isn’t supported by fucking morons who think brown people are eating dogs. Just to clarify Springfield OH has a crisis with Haitian migrants. They had a townhall meeting where residents brought to light these animal eating claims. The police responded to one such incident and it was recorded, a female eating a cat in a residential area. So the claims aren’t a complete haux he’s just exaggerating. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills.

MSM. mSm MSm msS!
During the presidential debate on Tuesday, Trump also claimed to have seen “people on television [saying] ‘My dog was taken and used for food’”. BBC Verify has looked at archive video of every major US broadcaster, including Fox, CNN and CBS. We also used keywords to search for relevant video on social media, and have not identified any televised interview of this nature. Separately, a news report - as well as police bodycam footage - from late August about a woman arrested for killing and eating a cat has also been circulating online. Many right-wing commentators have referred to the woman as Haitian and pointed to the report as evidence for the baseless claim that Haitian immigrants have been engaged in similar activity. However, the incident took place in Canton, Ohio, about 170 miles (273km) away from Springfield. Canton Police told the BBC that the suspect was born in 1997 and that she was a US citizen. The department also told us "we have not dealt with any complaints of Haitian immigrants at all." BBC Verify spoke to the Springfield City Commission about the claims. Officials told us: “There have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community.” Claims of other incidents The claims have also been reflected in a post on Reddit with a photo of a man carrying what appears to be a dead goose in Columbus, Ohio. On 10 September, the conservative news outlet, The Federalist, published a story with an audio recording allegedly from a non-emergency call to police in Springfield. The caller claimed to have seen four Haitians carrying four geese. The article also features what is meant to be a police report from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office about the call which it says was made on 26 August. BBC Verify contacted the sheriff’s office and asked them whether the audio recording and police report were true. It directed us to a Springfield City government spokesperson who said "these claims were not substantiated".

Also, if people cannot see the underlying racism at play here then they need to take a good hard look at themselves.

The claims of people eating household pets and the execution babies, by Drs, after they're born, under any normal auspices, would correctly lead to a psychiatric hold. But because it's a former President and he's an absolute political grifter, people will try and justify and support it.
It's Black Mirror type stuff, really.

Soz mate, if some fucking rando in a town hall meeting didn’t make a nonsense claim which was then spoken about in some podcast and subsequently tweeted by some right wing nut, I’m going to have to take these verified facts with a pinch of salt.

Finding it fairly amusing how almost militant the pro-Dem sentiment is here.
Perhaps not surprising that some nutcase almost killed the guy 2 months ago? Generates an immense amount of hatred.
Honestly couldn't care less who you support, and frankly surprised at how upset people are getting that we're not all of exactly the same opinion here - the most vocal folk here don't even live in the USA.
The irony here is that I'm genuinely not pro-Trump, I'm simply not pro-Harris. Trump is an idiot narcissist, Harris is a nothing candidate who received no votes and was Hillary'd into the race a la Bernie Sanders (without any mandate).
In fact, a Trump presidency will almost certainly be terrible for South Africa, due to SA's ICJ case vs Israel and the opposition to the Ukraine war, our AGOA status will be under threat of termination if Trump is elected.
But go on, way too much emotion in this thread for me at this stage as a non-US citizen, and people seem to be making this really personal - differing opinions are apparently either pro-Trump, racist or considered low on intelligence (or all three).

They and those in here can make it as personal as they like, it doesn't phase me and will phase me even less if you aren't actually a citizen here. It's like me having an opinion about current England/British politics. I hate both candidates and the parties themselves are rancid, corrupt, lie peddlers. My government is power hungry and as far as I'm concerned are against the people they were elected to represent, but I say that and I get told "jUsT aDmIt yOu ArE vOtInG fOr TrUmP"

I don't make personal attacks about it towards people as people believe what they believe for whatever reason, because at the end of the day they are still a flawed person trying to figure life out just like I am. I'm not saying you can have an opinion about it if you don't live here, that it doesn't really stick when you don't actually live here and can vote to make an actual change. I would say the same the people that live here bitch about it and don't vote. Me throwing around my opinion about british politics is irrelevant for the same reason... I don't live there and don't vote to make the change I believe needs to happen or know how the people actually live their lives

Around 43% of Americans identified as independents according to 2023 Gallup data. Tied with the record number from 2014.
That means close to half of the surveyed data do not support the GOP or Dems outright; I think this will increase.
More than 50% of Gen Z and Millennial voters in the US (2024) identify as independent, and it's the fastest growing voting block by affiliation.
Watch this space in 2028!
The only place where dialogue seems to be taking place is outside the bi-party paradigm.

It means, for now, that folks who don't identify with the red or blue team can decide the election. RFK was polling at 7-15% before he dropped out. In future, with a viable candidate, it could well be different. These age groups, and the ones younger than them, are unlikely to continue voting for the duopoly forever. It's already happening.

It splits the vote but ultimately it splits it in favour of one of the big two. You'll feel warm and pleased with your protest vote but it doesn't change things massively. The presidency without some influence over the legisture isn't very useful at all. Most Americans know that and it makes sense.

Trump is the lesser of the two evils. Yep, he’s a shitty person, I don’t dispute that but if Harris wins I see more of the same shit for the next 4 years. She’ll get by on the same ticket Starmer has in that she’s not the other alternative.
