Where are you getting this from because Article V of the Constitution covers this specifically. I quick search confirms this and that US Federal court nor Supreme Court can do that. Marbury v. Madison. If Trump tries this and people say it's unconstitutional, the federal courts, and ultimately the Supreme Court, will decide who is right. The Supreme Court determines what the Constitution (including the 22nd Amendment) means. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judicial_review Edit: I'm an attorney so not entirely speaking out of my ass here. Not saying you are. I don't have arguments for gotcha moments online or make myself feel better. I know what the Constitution says and if there are ways to circumvent constitutional law then it makes me a better citizen of my own country to prevent things like this from happening. I will always on the government should be For The People Elected By the People. Complete and unchecked control of the nation is unconstitutional in my eyes. I will give this a read, thank you.

I agree with you. Here's an example. For a long time it was settled law in this country (as determined by the Supreme Court) that the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment allowed for Jim Crow segregation (separate but equal). Eventually the Supreme Court adopted a new (and obviously better) interpretation of the 14th Amendment that did not allow such discrimination. Same 14th Amendment, but it meant two different things to judges sitting on the Supreme Court at different times.

Of all the people who have been self-sabotaging with their votes, pro-Palestine protestors may be at the top. Kamala was their only hope of a peace process. Trump will let Israel do what they want and no one else on earth will be able to step in and stop them. They’re a fucking dumb bunch. I wish they’d fuck off and get a job or get back into their school or college. All these cunts with their pro-Palestinian protests need to see what’s happening in Sudan. The largest war induced famine in history, tens of millions displaced on a scale hitherto unseen, mass rapes, mass ethnic cleansing. People are fucking wiping villages and towns off the face of the earth like they’re playing age of empires or something. Go protest that you fucking vagabonds. Because you’re bang on Rust, Trump will allow Bibi to practically t-bag the Palestinians and Lebanon while these stupid fucks were voting against Harris. Reality in this country is people virtue signal one way or the other so badly. I don't think they genuinely give a shit about what's actually happening between Palestine/Isreal, and I would be willing to put money that majority (again on both sides) couldn't point a map where both are 2yrs ago now everyone is an expert their history and who is right/wrong. If they cared then there would genuine concern for what's been happening in South Sudan for the last 15+ yrs, the genocide that takes place in other parts like the slavery in Colbalt mines in the Congo that's used in the phone they have, but they don't because this is the new shiny object. Now that Isreal and Iran are thumping their chest at each other, I wouldn't be surprised if Palestine gets completely forgotten about.

I think in this case specifically the people would fire back on this massively. Yes there are maga nuts that will let him do literally anything but there is a vast majority that do not lean so radically right like that and would side with liberals on preventing it.

QUOTE OF THE DAY “I suspect I won’t be running again unless you say, ‘He’s so good we’ve got to figure something else out.’” — President-elect Donald Trump, speaking to jubilant House Republicans in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday morning. His suggestion that they could pave the way for him to serve a third term drew laughter.

I have to say, deleting my Twitter account has been absolutely brilliant for my mental health, particularly in light of events covered in here!

Can't imagine not having been on twitter lately, tbh!
This shit Biden is pulling right before his term ends is insanely irresponsible.
That ICBM looks scary, apparently the US were warned about it but nothing would be able to stop that.
Ominous for Ukraine.

I have to say, deleting my Twitter account has been absolutely brilliant for my mental health, particularly in light of events covered in here! Get yourself over to Bluesky if you haven’t already. The thing with Twitter and probably social media in general that I think a lot of us had forgotten over the years. It’s not necessarily for debate is it. It’s for socialising with people you like. You wouldn’t go to the pub and go “yeah lads, it’s nice to see you all but I’ve also invited a load of cunts to balance it out, they should be here any minute now”. And then the pub gets bought by a cunt, but you still keep going. Madness. You also wouldn’t stay in an environment for that long if it was full of people you can’t stand. With the algorithms or whatever, in the end I couldn’t avoid people I don’t like anymore. It was impossible. Can’t be doing with that. Even if you don’t recognise an impact, it cannot be good for anyone’s mental health to absorb opinions that you don’t agree with from people you can’t stand. Regardless what the opinions are or who those people are.

Always was a shithole, and now has descended into complete hell. Did away with Facebook a few years ago too when it became obvious they didn’t care about what was going on there either.

x.com/VigilantFox/status/1859006264325410843I think this reflects my experience on Twitter; it was dominated by Left/Dem sentiment before 2022 (especially around 2020 and even before then), and although that has balanced out substantially, the lack of censorship has given the impression that the Right dominates it. Would imagine Blue Sky might be > 65% Dem/Left dominant at this point, and with the user-base currently at only 20m (and considering the timing of their growth post-election) perhaps even more-so. For me, purely from the perspective of having instant/earliest access to world events (especially video), it's hard to look past Twitter's 500m+ global user-base. Simultaneously, Twitter (and not legacy media) ultimately proved to be quite accurate in reflecting US election sentiment. Ultimately, people need to take care of their mental health so I'm happy folks have found a platform that speaks to this fundamental requirement - whether that be through deleting social media altogether (which many of my friends have done for years), or finding a platform with a user-base that is more aligned with their political and other sentiments.
