Have to say I'm enjoying the irony of the left kicking up a stink when they thought Trump would lose and he said he wouldn't guarantee he would honour the result, about how disgraceful that is and you need to accept the democratic process; then rampaging through the streets protesting when Trump wins because they don't like the result.
Also, why do the left feel the need to react like this whenever they don't get their own way (see Brexit, or the Torries winning the last election)? Is this a result of the "there are no winners or losers" attitude in schools, "Everyone gets a medal" and all that shit.

They said if they lose they'll grab their muscats. The two sides are just so far apart atm.

Campaigns around the world are being run on fear atm but there's not that much to fear. Far, far more peopl are dying from guns or not having health care than they are to things like terrorists. I don't get that angle.
Normally I'm good at seeing both sides of the story, weighing them up and then voming to a point where I respectfully disagree with one side but I'm completely unable to do that here. It bothers me.

I find it fascinating our American friends have made about two comments & then left here. I find myself terrified & needing to talk about it. This whole thing could be genuinely nothing but am I the only one who sees parallels between Muslims (Jews) & non Aryans (Mexicans) etc? It feels like I've been jerked back in time to the 1930's. Some people at my work are even telling me he's going to clean the country up & then have no idea people like Pence & Carson are. There really isn't more racism in America than any other 1st world nation. Your opinion is coming from headlines clearly because living and breathing daily in between a metropolis and suburbia in my part of America I see this is not true. There are nations like France that have laws outlawing ethnic specific attire and customs, that is actual racism. Having not been born in America and having moved here I understand that inside these borders everyone has a fair shake. The problem is rhetoric and media agendas. Honestly. The extremists from both sides cannot get over the past and feel entitled to the country more than another person because of past injustices. I am polish and had family murdered in WWII just three generations ago, am I supposed to fear and hate any German and teach my kids that Germans are naturally evil? How crazy would that be. Racism will not go away if it's brought up at every turn and used as leverage and fallen back on in almost every argument. In 2008 I voted for Obama and had a wide eyed vision of that he could really bring the nation together once and for all. The opposite has been true. The divide has grown because during his time people were labeled, white, black, LGBT, immigrants, and the idea of AMERICANS was an afterthought. You brits are very good at this and keep a strong British identity. This is not what has happened In the last decade in America. The week after Obama was elected I was in college working at an electronics retailer and I had a client who was a black man. He bought a radio and the parts needed to install into his vehicle. The radio was already on sale, and I gave him an additional 10% just for the fuck of it. He wasn't happy. He told me and I'll never forget. "You mean to tell me that a Barack Obama a black man is president of this country is president and you can't offer a black man a discount." I was in shock. He refused to talk to me further and demanded a manager because he didn't want to talk to the white salesman. Two days ago people didn't vote for fear, or racism, or sexism. They voted for change. And yes, you do all need to calm the fuck down the world is still turning and good people are waking up each day at treating all walks of life and respect and kindness. Especially in America.

Thankyou for that response. I was equally sick of seeing libtards everywhere as you are of racism. I personally as little as a year or two ago used to hate mention of the colour of peoples skin. I used to just want people to be called people. Don't talk about racism and it'll go away. I feel in the last couple of years though I've been smacked in the face to the fact it still is a bigger problem than i thought. This Trump campaign has been a big factor in that. On the part about Germans, no you are not supposed to keep hating them at all. I would have thought you'd have seen the same parralels though between ehat Trump has been saying and what Hitler did. I'm interested to know why you didn't. We also have racism problems here. It's a bit different imo from what I see over there. In Aus you are expected to conform to be "Aussie". If you are not you are shunned. If you do you are fine. I find that in a lot of other countries you are expected to live with your people and stay there. You can keep your culture there. Our Aboriginal situation is similar to Native Americans. It sucks that Obama couldn't achieve what he set out too. He was obviously not popular in the Senate. What are these changes you think Trump will make?

I think I come on here for fiery debates for some reason. I think of myself as open minded though. Willing to accept all kinds of lifestyles and behaviors. The only types I don't seem to like are ones I see as close minded. Those that spread hate.

What are these changes you think Trump will make? That is a good question. People seem to forget that his own party threw Trump under the bus right up to the election being called in his favor. I do not hold out great hope that the pols on capital hill will do anything but try an conduct their slimy business as usual. I am a Vet, and I consider myself to be a patriot. I loathe Donald Trump, and it isn't because I believe him to be a racist or any of the other names he has been called. I believe he targeted his campaign to bring some of the worst people in this country out from under their rocks and he has made them feel entitled to conduct themselves in a fashion I find totally unacceptable BUT, last couple days, the people that didn't support Trump have been acting like they need to find rocks to get under too. Get the fook off the streets and damn well look around you and see about helping make the place you live a bit better. As a Vet, and a patriot, I took an oath a long time ago, and I have held to that oath, part of which deals with respecting who the countries' commander and chief is. I will hold to that oath, and work within the system to make my voice heard and try to effect change. I've done it all my voting life. Even had some good results on local level, and one on state level. People from all walks of life need to wake up to the fact that in a democracy, they got what they asked for, period. Now is the time to stop sniveling about results, and start looking to use the votes and their voices to make damn sure the people sitting in the capital remember who butters their bread, and at mid term, failure to listen to the people they represent could well find them on the outside, wondering what happened to all that money they get from lobbyists. People always talk change, tine for them to stop just talking the talk, time to fooking well walk the walk ! ]

They just need to make themselves heard and he will have to keep in line. Gry on with their lives. The electoral college needs looking at though. They still have 5 million ballots to count in California apparently but the election has long been deemed over.

Aye, I'd like to see the end of the electoral college. It made a certain amount of sense when the framers of the constitution (Believe it was Ben Franklins idea) at a time when people could not travel for days or weeks from out on the frontier to be able to vote. But it has long outlived it's intended purpose, and in fact, there have been several elections where the popular vote went to a candidate that did not win. The E.C. allows candidates to target specific groups. Pres Obama used the Internet. Trump's people refined that down to social media. Americans are very apathetic, or perhaps a more accurate word would be fookinlazyassmuppets, Hell, our schools, which used to be top drawer suck, kids don't learn any American history to speak of, and what they do learn is "edited" like something from Orwell's writings. If I still had school age kids, I would home school them. But, all said and done, I believe that the country will survive, and perhaps, be a better place for the experience. There are a great number of damn fine people here, and what they do doesn't get "seen" because it seems that our press and a "noisy" minority prefer to hype the negatives to sell whatever it is they are selling. I've never really figured out the attraction in that kind of mentality, perhaps some people are just so unhappy they want to see others on the receiving end of some disaster or bad luck or whatever. I've tried to teach my kids, from the time they could toddle about, that courtesy and general kindness is a good way to roll, while at the same time, being confident in the things they can accomplish, and to carry themselves with the kind of pride that keeps muppets at bay, without stirring crap up. Like ripples on a pond, if my kids, and their kids view the world in the right fashion, then they can have influence on that world. One rock can have ripple effect on a big ass pond I've got some damn fine kids and grandkids

This isn't just happening in the U.S Well, my friends in person, in text, in email, and on Facebook have been talking about nothing else besides this Trump shit sandwich we all got served. Until tonight, when Leonard Cohen died, and that just made a nightmarish week even worse. People are taking about it here non-stop. I'm too numb to really continue talking. I've drank myself to sleep the past two nights. This will be the third in a row.

That's the same image from Tackhead's 1989 album "Friendly As A Hand Grenade." This whole election thing isn't a disaster because the Republicans won, it's a disaster because this particular man is going to be President. What I would give for a President Romney now.
