With the likes of Rooney, Smalling, Jones, Carrick, Young, Shaw, etc being mooted as leaving, we are going to be desperately short of HG players to fill our competition quotas. So, who should we be looking at? Here's a couple to start: Ryan Sessegnon - Fulham Will Hughes - Derby Michael Keane - Burnley Andrew Robertson - Hull Adnan Januzaj, Cameron Borthwick Jackson.

Januzaj is a goner probably. Probably rightly so.

For CBJ & Pereira (both Andreas & Joel) & Tuanzebe & Gribbin & a few more see TFM.
Registering an U21 player is a possibility but would use a spot that could go to an over 21 player.

Hughes, Michael Keane. If Keane is too much (which shouldn't be the case if we had put a fucking buy back clause in there) then Maguire has been very good for Hull.
Ward-Prowse is the one I'd pay the stupid money we'll be quoted for these 'young Lions' though. Looks s great player in the making.

This is one of the reasons I think Lingard should get a bit more leeway from fans. I accept he's not good enough to be a constant starter but I think he's certainly good enough to be a squad player, I don't expect he'll ever kick up a fuss about being a squad player and importantly he's home grown.
We've let too many decent enough homegrown players leave in recent years.

Lingard is a superb squad player to have. Never a nailed on starter but definitely a squad player.

And on city, we should have signed Delph.

And on city, we should have signed Delph. Not good enough to be a regular starter, no but he is good enough to be a squad player in my opinion and a pretty important one at that. He's scored some important goals, plays multiple positions and works hard. Both managers the last 2 seasons seem to trust and like him.

Flatters to deceive. Always takes the easy option, often putting his mate in trouble through a lack of taking responsibility himself. If a team is as good as it's squad players we should be looking at a higher standard than Lingard. If he was third choice in a few different positions I'd keep him. Otherwise, we can do better.
