The surface tablets really are great bits of kit (price aside). Windows 10 is great bar the fucking forced updates. I'm out. Fuck off Microsoft.

It is. Some machines simply either cannot be rebooted or have any updates installed what so ever so to have microsoft dictate that updates are super important is scandalous. Suprised that the EU havn't kicked them in the nuts over it.
going back to server 2016, if we were to upgrade our virtual platform to 2016 from 2012r2 and it rebooted whenever it felt like it then we'd be fucked since one of those is an iSCSI target which hosts all of our VM's.

Is this with reference only to servers or certain specific cases? Because as a consumer who uses it for recreational/daily use/random fuckery, this has never been a problem for me as such. English , do you speak it ?

Holy fuck when you're in the middle of doing something urgent in work and Windows literally just decides it's updated and now you have to restart otherwise the system will freeze forever. One of the reasons I have been totally soured on anything Microsoft. I also understand approximately 50% of your second bit.

Like this basically;
if the SAN in this case automatically rebooted for updates the all the virtual machines would also reboot due to the storage going offline

Ahhhhhh. If you had just said 'server' I would have got it. It confounds me that Microsoft are still o tone deaf when it comes to issues like this.

I think its back-covering due to people doing getting updates and then moaning that they got a virus / spyware or something
