2 goals always looks good on paper, until you're watching the game and then you watch the midfield fall further and further back. 3 is the absolute minimum I ever feel comfortable with. That's exactly what happened over aggregate in the semi. 2 up and we just sat deep at the start of the second half; it was a terrible decision by Jose. Hopefully he's learnt his lesson should the same situation occur again. The 2 leg games are even worse. A false sense of security because of the away goal and before you can blink you're thanking your lucky stars that a city reject can't shoot properly.

Rome hurt, but only because much of it could have been avoided had we actually strengthened the side appropriately having sold the best player in the world. Both finals against Barca we were quite thoroughly outplayed which, considering they were the best team around without a doubt, made it less shit. The fact that it was Barcelona, however, made it awful.

Please start the game well. Please please please!! I know it won't happen, but imagine if we scored 2 early goals and looked completely in control...
...I'd still be terrified we'd find a way to fuck it up. I think we'd have to be about 4 goals up for me to relax (and that will never happen). You mean like the League Cup final exactly? (We don't even have Ibra this time to rescue it!)

The lads, especially the local boys are going to be affected tomorrow by what's happened. Hopefully they can control their emotions once it kicks off though we can't blame them if they can't.

Ladyman has suggested the final be played as a friendly, trophy shared and both clubs get a CL place..

If the attack had taken place in Stockholm then it would be different, but the only connection between football and what happened last night is that one of the teams taking part tomorrow is from the same city. United weren't caught up in it all as they were in a different country. Pre match minutes silence, as usual, and get on with it.
