I didn't watch the game, but it sounds like an absolute shocker. A lot of us were worried that the international break would kill our momentum, and it absolutely has. One thing I've noticed about Jose is that he doesn't seem to be as brave as he used to be. If things weren't going his way, he would make a bold move to shake things up - 3 subs at half time and complete change of tactic, for example. It was one of his qualities that I admired most. He now seems a lot more reluctant to make those kind of decisions, which I think is a shame.
Also, Miki is the most frustrating player we've had in years. Even more so than Nani.

Ain't cut out for this league, as a few pointed out before we signed him. He can do one, not like he's that young and has a few years to improve.

I don't even think Mkhitaryan and Nani are comparable for frustration. Nani was frustrating because you knew he had some utter game winning brilliance in him if he put it all together.
With Mkhitaryan I just get angry seeing his name anywhere near the team sheet because he just looks like total shit.

It has nothing to do with the international break. I'm sick of hearing this as an excuse. Didn't fuck city up. Or Spurs. Or any other actually spineful team. We have been largely uninspiring for weeks, with gloss added by late flurries of goals. Going to Anfield and cowering is what has killed our momentum.

The international break isn't necessarily a reason or excuse, but it does seem to be a coincidental issue when it comes to performances before and after.

Whether or not you think the International break killed our momentum, it robbed us of at least 2 first team players and has left Matic out on his feet (which is also a knock on effect of losing one of them, Fellani). Coupled with Pogba seemingly have his hamstring fucking cannibalized in a zombie attack, we are at bare bones level. In two key areas, CM and CB. City have been left largely unscathed. Is this a complete excuse? No. But you cannot ignore its a factor.

So are you disagreeing that it killed our momentum? Yes. Completely. It's an easy excuse to fall back on and I'm sick of excuses. A lot of that squad aren't good enough, we have known they aren't good enough, and genuinely excellent players can't make up for it. If you're only as strong as your weakest link we are fucked.

Injuries are definitely playing a part but I wonder if our tactics at Anfield killed some of the confidence in our squad and momentum. With the way Spurs teared them apart, we should have went after them. A win there would have been a huge boost.

I agree with Bestie, sick of excuses.
Also what pisses me off no end is social media posts from some of the players 'we must do better'. Juan Mata is notorious for it.

Silence, or someone like Ander stepping up and calling it like it is. The rest of the tossers skipped the media entirely. It's not like it's an excuse, they must do fucking better.

With respect I think you've mis-interpreted what I'm saying. Ander was right to say what he said, it's the likes of Juan Mata's blog which fobs off United fans after a defeat, its like the club have proof-read it or something. Same excuses in internet form, after a disappointing result. That's all I'm alluding to.
