Jose needs to work out how to get the best from Lukaku, at the moment only Pogba has the ability to provide a decent through ball or cross and we can't rely on one player, we are crying out for a no.10.

I said last week that all Young needed to add to his great current form was one of his scorching goals.
And that wasn’t one.
So all he needs to add to his great current form is one of his scorching goals! 😉

It was a good day to be honest. Everyone else dropped points and we got 3. The performance wasn't good but it could have gone worse.

Finding tactical solutions to bring out players creativity seems to be alien to Mourinho, if he had Neymar, he would find a way to play him out of position. Our supporters are always ultra optimistic but being close to City before they pummel us, isn't an achievement. We are miles away from winning the league in my opinion. I can't see us taking enough points off the top 4 clubs to mount a title challenge considering the form City are in. When we were winning titles, we had games like yesterday but they were rare. Performances used to matter.

I kept an eye on Pogba and Lindelof yesterdsy.
Pogba is different gravy, quiet second half though.
You can tell that Lindelof is good with the ball. He didnt make a single defensive error. He will be a player, he just needs time.

Lukaku may be given a three match ban for a kick against their defender it seems. Which means he will miss the derby.
Normally I'd say this may not happen considering not much was made out of this incident during the game .
But with all the ABU influence in the FA I think we can most definitely see a ban.

I've watched the game back and I think any criticism of Rashford's display is unfair, once again the only one of our attacking players who looked likely to make something happen in a tight game. Put in a number of beautiful crosses, one in particular in a perfect area and Lukaku did absolutely fuck all to try and attack the cross, it wasn't directly to him, so he just stood still and watched it get cleared.
Martial on the other hand did very little. I keep hearing from people, on here and elsewhere that Martial is the better player but I see no real evidence to back this up. He rocks up with a mazy run every other game and to his credit he slots home most of the one-on-one chances he gets but in terms of affecting our attacking play, particularly from the start, he's not doing anywhere near enough.

And both Rashford and Martial look miles better than Lukaku. I don't see Lukaku being a real difference maker just yet anyway, so the ban will likely only give a more prominent role to Rashford.

If Lukaku does get a ban I'd like to see us go with Rashford left and Martial through the middle. Despite being critical of Martial I think that is his best position, he's a brilliant, ice cool finisher, has good movement, good link up play and can manoeuvre the ball well in tight areas. Rashford plays equally well no matter where he plays, even though I also think he's best through the middle. Although it's likely Zlatan will come in for the games Lukaku misses.

one player who's been working a lot on his crosses seems to be martial. we've got lots of great deliveries from the left side lately, mainly down to young and martial.his crosses have been really, really good this season and he backs it up with a couple of assists from these.
martials improvement this season is great.got his mojo back and running at defenders, started to put in some good crosses for the big lads, his work rate improved and his stats speak for himself. didnt have the best of game against brighton but its hard to drop him from that left side
