Thing that gets me is that José spent upwards of £60 million on Bailly and Lindelof and was still (apparently) wanting to slash a shit-load more on Varane, Godin, et-al, hardly chimes with his player nous does it? We are (supposedly) THE richest club in the world ,and could probably blow any other club out of the water if we so wished with the backing of the board but if they have told him “No, concentrate on developing the players that we have already bought ,on your recommendation ,INCLUDING the younger lads” then I’m all for that. This ,of course, will be moot if he starts badly and continues to moan throughout autumn. He will 100% be gone before the new year. I think that the board ,or some of them, have already made up their minds about him,and the (reported) £12 million or so to be rid of him will seem like money well spent.

Because he's infinitely better than any other CB option we have at the club, right now. I really don't agree with it. Toby is not a player of such status and skills to say that he is infinitely better than any of our CBs. Can you say that with Toby in the back you will be calm against Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, Eden Hazard, Mo Salah, Lionel Messi, Gareth Bale, Neimar and so on? I dont think so. On the other hand against likes of Tosun, Arnautovich, Benteke and so on it really does not matter if you have Toby or Phil Jones, They both will do the job He’s miles better. It’s not even a debate.

I hope Jose sees out the season, overachieves and sticks two fingers up to the grasping cunts and walks . ^that, I am still struggling to see how much of what is going on with lack of players or money to get players is down to Jose? Gotta think that he would love an open pocketbook an chance to build his own legacy. This was supposedly his "Dream" job right ? An open pocketbook? Not much of a legacy.

reality is we aren't the richest club anymore, city, psg, Chelsea etc can blow us out and then find some shady way to justify where they got the funds to avoid any penalties. we are what we are, a club that is struggling to hold onto it's identity, style, status (football wise). before if we wanted a player we would likely get them, if they had doubts a call from fergie would sort that out.
I think we have work to do and throwing money at it as we have found out since moyes left is not the answer. we need a proper coach to pick the team and personally I think a DOF who will act as the buffer between the coach and ED/Glazers. We as a club have resisted this for so long but reality is we have to adapt and change. We are in a decent position where we have some darn good young players who really have it within themselves to be world class, we also have some darn good mature players that can help the young ones. You listen to the likes of Herrera, matic, mata, young those guys know who they are playing for and it's important that they really mix with the younger players. anyway lets see how this pans out in 10 games time, if Jose decides that he is gonna show everyone he is still the boss then likely we win all 10 games, if he decides he didn't get what he wants then it's gonna be a mixed bag

MORE OF THIS PLEASE JOSE!
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has hit out at claims he's at loggerheads with his players.
And the Portuguese accused the media of "lying" over reports of friction with his squad ahead of tonight's Premier League opener with Leicester City.
"I love my players and I love working with them. A lie that is repeated a thousand times is still a lie. But the perception of the people is that it is true. But it remains a lie," snapped Mourinho.
"So if you repeat a thousand times that my relationship with my players is not right, that is a lie that has been repeated a thousand times. But, again, the perception of the people can be different. But I love this group and these players. I enjoyed last season, taking the best position in the past five or six years. I know what words you want to hear from me."

I just don't get how people can get behind the board vetoing transfer targets based on the quality of players. Especially when the one doing it is Ed fucking Woodward. If the manager wants a player, you make everything possible to give him that player. It's that simple. If you don't agree with the manager's view then just sack him ffs! What's the point of all this? At least when the Chelsea owner was calling the shots he was doing it with his own money. Here we have a board led by a dickhead who's sole responsibility is to his paymasters. This guy remember actually helped them with the takeover. They aren't football men just ones solely led by profit. Charlton and Fergie are just token gestures within the hierarchy who have no power. Until fans stop lining inking their pockets they will remain. Regardless of which manager is in charge anyone defending these cnuts needs to give their head a wobble!

Anyway, I'm actually excited for the game tonight. Football's back! You may be in a minority of one... Until or unless the football muppet raises his head...

Let Rojo go for £30mil and keep TFM as your 5th central defender instead of loaning him out. Simple solution.
If you get the chance to sell Rojo for £30mil, you fucking do it.

i keep saying the real crime of the window is rojo and darmian are still around! that is pathetic. TFM loaned out and darmian still there?? rojo is one of 5 cb's, injury prone aswell. either everton never really wanted him or Jose blocked the move. there is no way the gimps would not have sold him at that price.

Jose clearly doesn't rate TFM.

Jose clearly doesn't rate TFM. It would appear so. I actually thought he'd be a player who he'd like and who would benefit massively from Mourinho being here.

Bit of a reminder that we can still sell outside the Premier League. Think we'll ship Darmian in the next couple of weeks.
