smalling rojo darmian blind young fellaini no were near good enough and all need to leave, romero johnstone zlat will leave more then likely carrick retireing, thats 10 players who need to be replaced 1 way or another and thats before improving on the players we already have. We neee a better squad then what we currently have 4 transfer windows in millions spent and our squad is actualy pretty shit. I dont even want to think about madrid going all out for ddg again this summer aswell I think they have too many other areas of priority and it's going to be an expensive summer for them.

You keep harping on about the millions spent, so how do we replace 10 players without spending millions?? The money spent has been on players who will be here for a few years yet. So hardly wasted is it?

What happend to miki? 90m for lukaku who is never going to be a top top class striker so for my personal view money has been wasted and lots of it i just dont think we have bought well enough. Also all those players i mentioned not 1 would get a squad place in a top team in europe yet most start week in week out for us, i thought jose was going to be ruthless in the market when he first came and cleared the shit and it never happend

Were you that quick to write off Vidic & Evra? Probably were actually. Mikhi has just been swapped for a much better player, who should have cost a lot more than we paid for Mikhi in the first place. Lukaku. Not performing as he should be yes, but still time. How exactly do you clear out players on nice big contracts? If they don't want to go, or no clubs come in for them what exactly do you do? We have seen the moaning when players are sold cheap, yet that is the only way you are going to get rid of them. And then the club/manager will be blamed for that too.

The thing is- a lot of people seem to have homed in on Smalling and Jones as somehow indicative of the failings of Utd post-Fergie. I used to rate Smalling but I think he’s tailed off. I really rate Jones and I think people here have become blinded against him for some odd reason, despite the fact hes been clearly our best CB this season and by some distance. It makes no sense to me to say “bin off Jones, keep Bailly and Rojo’ because it doesn’t add up. Leaving aside the fact that ironically Bailly has been injured far more than Jones this season, when he has been fit he hasn’t played as well as Jones. And neither has Rojo. I was undecided about Jones in the past so I’m not biased towards him, I’m just calling it as I see it.
And if we do get rid of them and replace them with these magical CB’s that wont cost preposterous money, what improves exactly? We already have one of the best defenses in the league and have done for a while now. We have an amazing keeper. So if we get new CBs, will this suddenly mean we’re more creative? That Jose somehow works out that a midfield 2 isnt a great idea with Pogba? That we should fucking leave Martial where he was performing brilliantly? That Lukaku will take the only chance he gets in a crucial game?
The answer is ‘no’ to all those. For me the list of priorities this summer should have quite a few things on it before CB.

I think ur missing my original point here about the 10 players i mentioned Carrick is retireing Zlat will leave on a free Romero will more then likely leave Johnstone is out on loan and if its true what the reports all say he will move on Fellaini contract is up but why the fuck is jose trying to offer a new deal Darmian and blind would get moves fairly easy both not on mega wages and would be cheap.both need moving as no near good enough for us Im sure we could release young end of season with out any problems So that leaves smalling and rojo and if they didnt leave just dont play them. Or the so called bigest club in the world who have bazillions in the bank could pay to end there contract as they just aint good enough.

We may have billions in the bank but I don't think paying players contracts off is something they do very often. We are not City. I don't know why we are arseing around with Fellani's contract. There it is, lump it or do one.

Ive not rated Jones for a long time so it's not like he's become a new scapegoat. The thought of going up against Europes elite with either Jones or Smalling makes me very scared. Neither are good enough at this level. They've had years to prove themselves. The thought of Tuanazebe or TFM missing out because of these two pisses me off.

However we shouldn't be bending over for Fellani either way.

Premier League? Because Jones has proven hes good enough to play at that level by being one of the best CBs in the league this season. Champion’s League? Well we haven’t been in it much post Fergie so I’m not sure how he’s supposed to prove himself yet. He’s also England’s best CB so unless Southgate goes full Southgate he’ll be playing at World Cup Level too.

Football 365 quotes the Evening Standard “Alderweireld earns around £50,000 a week at Tottenham and contract talks have stalled“...
It shouldn’t be extremely difficult to improve on what we have at CB

And lets not forget that our defence was watertight when Bailly and Jones were the CB pairing.
