Arthur heading to Barca is rather annoying. As is Kluiverts potential deal to Madrid.

Read the whole twitter thread. Pretty interesting On the last tweet - it could be, but when I was in France I discovered that they aren't so reliable, very hit and miss and the French who follow the transfer sagas will tell you the same (some may even tell you that they're unreliable). Not too concerned.

all in all... we need a new CB. i think Jones is the best CB we have at the moment but hes still not incredible. much better than smalling but also less fit. seams to have turned bit of corner this year though. i think were all in agreement that Smallin needs to go. him and possibly Rojo and definitely Blind. this year is arguably the most important transfer window in a long time. we have set ourselves up and Jose should know exactly what we need. - City are on fire and will still improve and increase the gap on us. - Liverpool will have a plan in place and they are not far off being a very good team. they could pass us this year and are playing far more exciting football. if they sort a couple of positions out then they will be a contender. - Spurs have there own issues down to finances and the ability to keep hold of players. if they do, they'll be very strong again next year and could overtake us. - Chelsea, well who knows. we have a lot of dead wood that needs clearing regardless. we need to get rid of: 1. romero - let him leave and bring though the younger keepers. if he wants to stay as back up then its fair enough and up to him. 2. Smalling 3. Rojo ? 4. Blind ? 5. Carrick 6. Fellaini 7. Zlatan i would be keeping Young as a squad player and experience in the club in: 1. CB - Alderwerield (sp) is an option but also injured lots. do we need another one of those? 2. RB 3. could argue a LB - Sandro/Ry Sess 3. CM 4. CM 5. world class attacker i don't think that's too much to ask for either. we need to fix the glaring problems regardless of bedding in players. is cost even an issue ? Don't think RB is a priority since TFM seems to be the long-term successor. Valencia can hold the position down for another year or 2 before TFM can step in. Also speaking of dead wood, you forgot to add Darmian to that list! Would rather have Rojo stay as well, he's a useful squad player. I completely forgot about Darmian! get that useless fucker out. the most uninspiring defender ive ever seen at united. fair point on TFM though.

also doesn't surprise me if the Pogba stories are true, Jose's system are completely holding him back and the club back.
the rumours that we are after no attackers in the summer makes me feel underwhelmed about the window already. i hope its a smoke screen.
supposedly we have offered Umtiti 100k a week to join and hes wanting Barce to match it before he signs a new deal. we should be going way more than that. hes easily one of the best CBs about.

Arthur heading to Barca is rather annoying. As is Kluiverts potential deal to Madrid. Both of those make me annoyed. Kluivert to anywhere but here though would be fucking infuriating. Like Eriksen-we-saw-him-first-hand-for-fuck-sake annoying.

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5392667/Tottenham-wont-break-bank-Toby-Alderweireld.html#ixzz577ni6EqlToby Alderweireld's wage demands have brought talks with Tottenham over a contract extension to a standstill. It is believed the Belgian, 29 next month, is seeking a five-year contract and a salary far in excess of the club's £110,000-a-week pay ceiling. Talks are close to breaking point as there is such a distance between the two parties Real Madrid are understood to be monitoring the situation closely. Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal would also be interested in the centre back but Tottenham would be reluctant to sell to a domestic rival. Alderweireld earns £50,000-per-week and Spurs have so far refused to give in to his demands while sources claim there is no middle ground in sight. The player's deal expires in the summer of 2019, but Tottenham have the option of an extra 12 months. However, triggering that extension would activate a clause allowing the Belgian to leave for £25million — well below market value. That means Tottenham may cash in this summer.

If it is reliable that their wage ceiling is 110k , then it makes me wonder why we haven't tempted their best performers here with higher wages. I say tempted because we can never expect Levy to sell to us . I sometimes think that we should just get Levy in here , he seems of sound footballing mind and he's a bloody good negotiator by all accounts. Ed can continue to sign tractors , while we have someone capable to handle the reins football wise.

Was reading that Raiola wants Icardi at United - I would love him here football wise but we may as well just call us Raiola FC.

And footballing ability is the only positive thing about Icardi. In most other aspects he is an utter horrible cunt of a man.

Read the whole twitter thread. Pretty interesting Not fun to read. L'Equipe are traditionally very reliable on French players and clubs. I bet Raiola has something to do with this story behind the scenes, and if he does there's a decent chance it's because some of it is true.
