had a proper good piss up in Dublin the other week. was drinking Sierra Nevada beer. beautiful. one the nicest pints ive had. the Orchard Thieves cider went down a treat too. The missus and her ladies got an all access tour of Sierra Nevada’s brewery last week. Place is supposed to be incredible. Owner is a very cool guy big into the outdoors and philanthropy. He is a bit of a legend in the craft beer scene especially on the west coast. Not a big Sierra Nevada fan but I think they were one of, if not the brewery responsible to the craft beer industry taking off so I love them for that. It's amazing the way beer has changed around the world in a handful of years.

I'm quite lucky in that I live in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire and we have our own brewery www.hooky.co.uk/ and live pretty close to the Wychwood brewery www.wychwood.co.uk/ that does one of my favourite beers, Hobgoblin... I tend to go for the darker ales and Old Hooky and Hobgoblin do just fine... Also like...Bishops Finger, Abbot Ale, Tanglefoot amongst a host of others... If the weather gets too hot then I'll most likely go for a decent cider (not silly fruit ones, just apple...) Haven't had a Snakebite in years...must try one again... As you know, I'm just down the road in Reading. Got a few decent breweries down here too!

It's amazing the way beer has changed around the world in a handful of years. Him, Greg Koch and Jim Koch were all ahead of their time. Funny thing is, I do not really love any of their breweries. Yeah, I tend to agree. Their staple Pale Ale is kinda meh. They do have more limited releases that are pretty good. If you get the chance to try Hazy Little Thing I would recommend it. It is surprisingly cheap at the local shop, so I drink it pretty regularly.

I need to do an English brewery tour, followed by a scotch tour and finish it off with an Irish whiskey tour. This thread makes me thirsty.

Arrive back in the UK at the end of August just in time for the Kent Hop Festival. The timing was pure fluke, so it’s meant to be!

I do like the hobgoblin stuff, although king goblin gave me a raging hangover! Morrison's are doing some good American ales. Boston tea party is nice, funky ring pull too, although because the whole top of the can comes off I end up drinking it faster! There's also a mango beer which name escapes me. That's my favourite at the minute. This week my beer of choice has been mad goose. Quite an easy beer for week night world cup games!
