I think Shaw could be good enough, if he's actually given time on the pitch. In fact, Jose in his own words seems to think so too but for some reason Young (like Fellaini) gets straight back into that position regardless of form. In what world did Fellaini deserve to oust McTominay from that midfield for last night's crucial home-leg? Shaw is gone. If he was in his plans he would have been given more game time over an ageing LW with absolutely no ability in his Left Foot. We aren't under any real pressure in the league, so improving a talented LB who has played really well at times before injury set back VG time and Jose time should be easy for any manager who has patience McT would not have been given the chance if Fellaini was fit previously, even though some of us here were calling for him to be played way back as far as the city game. The panic buying of Sanchez was Mourinho because he had no real faith in Martial and Rashford, which is hard to understand because between them on that left they were fantastic all season The downward spiral of Pogba is also striking and typical of talented attacking players in mid development under Mourinho. We've basically hired 3 managers who have similar playing philosophy, which is astounding for a club that prides itself on attacking exciting football. Jose is the most successful one at this type of football obviously and experienced, but it's not working and he's the wrong manager for this club. The old heads at the club warned about this, but Woodward is so clueless and short term he's backing him to the hilt That fucking idiot Woodward is the real problem IMO. There is only a myopic strategy based on franchise and commercial success, with no real understanding of the importance the clubs traditions.

especially when said player is earning 4/5 times more than the ones being affected. He's had a bad effect on the team and has been a passenger at best. You compare that to Mikki's treatment. A player that was frustrating, but yielded more in his first 10 games than Sanchez has despite the humiliation. It's easier to be harsher on a quieter player and one that you haven't invested as much political capital in. Miki was shite. Let's not pretend otherwise. Apart from some good performances in the EL he was Di Maria's more handsome younger brother who became invisible...a lot. This team was inconsistent and disjointed long before Sanchez rolled into town. I'm not sure what you are rambling about. Your train of thought seems to be disjointed in itself. I was replying to Stewarts comments about Sanchez form and double standards. I never said Mikki wasn't poor, but he was better than Sanchez in his first 10 games, but was publicly humiliated and dropped for several months after 1 game.

How is Sanchez to blame for the previous 18 months of shite football we were producing more often than not? What the fuck are you on. Where did I say that

Where did I say that Saying Sanchez has had a bad effect on the team (your words) is like saying going deaf has a bad effect on a blind guy. It's not good, obviously, but it also misses a pretty major point.

Well, I shouted loudly and at length for Jose. I thought he’d be the man to get this thing turned around. For the first time since he came here, I am very much doubtful as to whether that’s the case. City are miles ahead at home and despite there being no clear favourite in Europe, we are miles behind there too. We have no style of any note and seem to win games with a bit of skill or some magic/brute force. He plays favorites with players that don’t deserve it and is in danger of alienating those that suffer those decisions. As we are close to the end of his second season, it is unacceptable that there are so many question marks about a side. But above all else, the abject display of cowardice last night, from a club that does have such close (and yes admitttedly naively romantic) ties with its past, puts him beyond the pale. If we hear he’s off to PSG in the summer, will anyone truly lament the news? Would PSG really take him?

You just know that's something Joel and Avram would pat Edward on the head for. There will be a bit of manager movement this summer chelsea real psg arsenal maybe be interesting to see if psg stil want jose tho

Including your posts about him recently in the manager thread, which look rediculous. At least I am consistant I was merely agreeing with Stewarts point about double standards re sanchez and not dropping him. FFS read the detail before having a go at me

Like many I have tried to give the manager leeway and support. Boiling down this squad's failings to Sanchez being overpaid and playing every game just seemed to be seeing one piece of a very large and shit-filled puzzle.

Then he'll have no excuses for fielding his strongest side on Saturday and taking the frustration of embarrassing themselves on the biggest stage out on Brighton on Saturday.

I got it from this: [On Sanchez] He's had a bad effect on the team and has been a passenger at best. As if we were good before he showed up. You have also been hyper-critical of him constantly since he signed. Possibly warranted to an extent. Just don't think that Sanchez being out of form is our most pressing issue. I'm more comfortable with Sanchez being a nailed on regardless of form starter than Fellaini. At least Sanchez might do something good.
