City to have an unassailable lead by mid November.
Mikhi hits a Hat-Trick early December, with Sessegnon bagging a double 4 days later. Liverpool provide the final nail a week later with Jose shown the door straight after.
Zidane in by Xmas after Carrick and McKenna field the U9s in a mesmerising 6-0 trouncing of Cardiff.
Edit:
5 1/2 months later Zidane wins the Treble and Pep sees his arse and fucks off, citing "stress".

We'd better keep this thread on the backburner.
Are there any ideal candidates that stand out at this stage?
Can't see a British alternative, so are we going continental again?
Bizarre how the outlook seems bleaker than rhe last 4 seasons but we just had our best league finish since Fergie - expectations have well and truly been raised again.

Will be interesting to see if we wait till top 4 is mathematically impossible with Jose as well, or if he implodes (as expected) by December we’ll politely tell him to fuck off.

You know it will be lack of top 4 again. Probably the best way to save on the payout.

So who is there to take over, whenever the blessed day arrives? If jose left nx summer poch would be my guess and that's only because Chelsea Madrid and Bayern have got new managers, obviously they could do shit themself and get sacked but he would be my guess fits the remit of what we want just lacks the trophy's which I believe would come at a better team, not sure if the board would move for somebody like a jardim or somebody like that

Well I wanted Conte before Jose but after his Chelsea performance I hope we stay away. Blanc? A Neville / Carrick team?

I was a huge Jose fan , but I think his time at United should be up after this season unless we win the league or there is massive improvement in the attacking display.
We should stop going after big names and look at more fundamental things. If we want someone who is young , tactically ahead of the curve , capable of coaching young attacking players into finished products and has actually won something Monaco's Leonardo Jardim is the perfect candidate , the guy ticks every box. He should be gettable for a club of our size.
If not him Poch would be good , he knows the league well but there is always a danger of him running off to Real / Barca.

I'd get rid of Mourinho now and replace him with Pochettino if I had my way.
Before appointing Mourinho I thought the most important thing was getting a successful manager who had won trophies but I now think it's much more important to have a manager who fits the club's ethos.
Pochettino fits us like a glove in my opinion. Trophies will come with a better club and group of players. You just have to look at Spurs' transfer activity so far to see what he's working with there.

I'd love a weird, left-field appointment. Someone young, dynamic and full of ideas, who can relate to a lot of the younger players.
I've a feeling that one of the unspoken reasons Fergie retired, aside from his sister-in-laws death, was this generation of young footballers. I think it was a step too far to identify with them. Maybe he couldn't get his head around the social media razzmatazz yadda yadda. Probably why Southgate was so popular with the players and fans back in England this Summer, he gets that part of the 21st century lifestyle.
Carrick could be a shout with a DoF or Sporting Director above him. My first pick would be Naglesmann, though.
