I would be on-board with Carrick, why not go the ex-player route and bring in the right people around them?
The football cannot get worse than under Moyes, VG or Mourinho, but the gimps will want to guarantee top 4.
Predicament.

Usually, winning the European Cup 3 times on the spin means you can't argue. BUT. That Real team has been together so long now, it coaches itself. The sheer cult of personality of Cristiano was the main reason they won those trophies. Also, I don't think Zizou has the stomach for management anymore. Think he's more than happy resting on his millions and glad ragging now.

I'd love a weird, left-field appointment. Someone young, dynamic and full of ideas, who can relate to a lot of the younger players.
I've a feeling that one of the unspoken reasons Fergie retired, aside from his sister-in-laws death, was this generation of young footballers. I think it was a step too far to identify with them. Maybe he couldn't get his head around the social media razzmatazz yadda yadda. Probably why Southgate was so popular with the players and fans back in England this Summer, he gets that part of the 21st century lifestyle. Carrick could be a shout with a DoF or Sporting Director above him. My first pick would be Naglesmann, though.
Southgate?

If Martial is that desperate then we should negotiate with Bayern reasons being they will keep him stuck there and the embarrassment will be less global when he blows up.
In regards to the board blocking or dithering on moves, on one hand it's not nice on another I clearly understand it. The targets will be 30 this year, cost at least £70 million and offer us just 1 maybe 2 years of good form, why trade a 22 year old for that, why hold rashford back for that? makes no economic or long term sense.
They clearly don't fully trust Jose and who can blame them, Martial, Lukaku, rashford, mata, sanchez, lingard, pogba all very good attacking players who look like they have never played or trained together, that is on Jose.
He has to realise his legend has waned massively and he has to build that by being radically good not pathetically miserable and average.
Lastly the club clearly think some targets are no better than what we have or what we have should be given a proper chance (shaw, lindelof) and some should just purely be used and developed (tuazenbe, TFM). Jose has really underachieved in terms of end product on the pitch with our squad.

I'd get rid of Mourinho now and replace him with Pochettino if I had my way. Before appointing Mourinho I thought the most important thing was getting a successful manager who had won trophies but I now think it's much more important to have a manager who fits the club's ethos. Pochettino fits us like a glove in my opinion. Trophies will come with a better club and group of players. You just have to look at Spurs' transfer activity so far to see what he's working with there. Where were you two years ago?

I think a lot of people just wanted to get that winning feeling back and with his record, thought that Mourinho was the answer. I hated the guy his entire career but got on board when he came. In hindsight he was never the right choice for us.
Too egotistical, his football is too dour, he IS shit with young players and he's behaved like as much of a cock here as he has anywhere else. I guess I just thought he'd be different with us and rein it in or change.

We were very fortunate because for over 20 years we had the greatest manager that has ever lived. He didn't just give us the success but he gave it us in a way we all desired.
The last 5 years have been a new learning experience for fans as much as anyone else.
