Nobody has a scooby-do within the squad of what 'buying into Jose's mentality' is, going into his third season for Christ sakes!! Not a clue. Nada, nil, zero, nought. C'mon. I am not a native English speaker, but does this make sense for anyone else? Scooby do=clue

Good guy Mou set his team out with Fellaini in knowing that Fellaini = shit and that Brighton needed a win to stay up. 2 plus 2 is 4 minus 1 thats 3 quick mafs. Props for Big Shaq reference. Fam.

Back in the early 90's Salford rugby club got beaten 77-nil ! The paper's headline was that 'at least they didn't embarrass the famous Salford red shirts as they had opted for their away shirts'. I'm really snuggling to find any positives from tonights performance. Brighton just wanted it more and were superior in every department. Our lads looked like over paid prima-donnas in comparison, maybe too pre occupied about what they were going to buy next rather than fucking exhorting them selves on the football pitch. They certainly were not prepared to get stuck in, they were not up for the battle and kept looking to to the ref for assistance. Fucking embarrassing !!! This is not the first time we have a wake up call like this, just doesn't seem to wake them up for long. No passion, no commitment, no drive, no battle, no bottle..........fuck it I'm having another bottle.

The players were never gonna get up for this game in my opinion. I thought we would struggle tonight, not with Brighton but with attitude. We will probably finish 2nd or at worst third. This season has been disappointing and I don't see us getting to the level we need to be at without a massive transfer window in the summer.

De Gea must be thinking “What the fuck am I doing here?” The same player who we stood by when he was having a difficult first season and getting slated by the press? I get your point, but he’s stood by us being crap for five seasons now so I’d say that debt is paid.

Mourinho throwing Rashford under the bus was a bit much.
Coaching the fullbacks to stop at half field, against an organized back 6, and then blaming the CF for one missed pass is exactly why I do not care for Mourinho.
And if he isn't coaching the fullbacks to stop at half field than he needs to correct them and tell them to get further into the corner.

It's felt like a end of season damp squib since before the West Brom game.
City winning against Spurs the night before pretty much finished any long shot of United performing a miracle.
Let's face it how many of those starters tonight could you give a good argument to keep?
Pep would get cull 75 per cent of this team imo if he was in charge.
We have collected so many bang average players and paid them handsomely for the privilege.
Fa cup aside the end of the season can't come quickly enough.
I suppose it's too much to ask that this team can motivate themselves to put in a winning performances against Chelsea in the cup?

Any team can get themselves up for a Cup Final, when the sun will be shining and the eyes of the world will be on them. It’s the humdrum, the boring, the run of the mill fixtures which you deal with efficiently that sets the good teams apart. What galls me about what Utd have become is precisely what they were like in the 80s- flashy, inconsistent and unable to get themselves up for the unglamorous games. Fergie drilled that into his sides because thats what wins titles. He saw what Liverpool did and made us do the same and then better. We became more than a cup team. 2nd is fine but the league was over in February. We’ll continue to be a Cup Team until we stop dropping stupid points to the likes of Brighton, Huddersfield and West Brom.

Progress is winning the league like city have this year after a poor year last year. Progress is going to the champions league final after years in the wilderness. What we have isn’t progress it’s surviving barely given our expectations and budget. Well then everyone below City have failed then maybe with the exception of Burnley ? As for Klopp, it's not that long ago he was being mocked for his team not being any better than a Rogers team on here. Spurs seem to be conveniently ignored now they have bottled another semi final under a much lauded manager. So we have spent time in the CL wilderness but you think we have a God given right to be in the final right now? Excuses, excuses, obfuscation as usual. It doesn't matter a jot what anyone else has done, or how they have failed. United have failed. That is quite literally the only thing that counts. I’d point more to the fact Chelsea have been poor, spurs struggled to get used to Wembley in the first 2 months, arsenal have fallen. apart and Liverpool are on a champions league run. That’s why we’re top 4 because everyone around us has been shit or inconsistent. It’s not exactly a glowing reference for Jose. This is exactly the kind of argument I heard when Fergie was often still here. When we won the league it was because everyone else was shit but when we missed out it was because we were? Why does everyone else have a free pass to be shit but we don't? So many excuses made for the failures of others. I'm surprised we haven't been blamed for Spurs bottling it yet again . Probably because we don't support those other teams so them being good or shit has little to do with United. The only time other teams are relevant to United is when they're better than we are. city are. Spurs and Liverpool play better attacking football. Beyond that, I don't care why those two are below us just that they are.

I just don’t get what you’re getting out of this Karna. I respect your right to an opinion and without opinions this place would be boring. As someone who defended Rooney on here for years but ultimately came to the conclusion i was very wrong i would strongly recommend taking a step back. Are you defending Jose because you feel cornered or do you genuinely believe he’s going to change? I just can’t believe you are enjoying the way we play football and the baffling choices the man makes at times.

A few years back Liverpool were doing the same, beating the good teams and losing to the bottom feeders. I think we are in a similar position now. There are a lot of players who let themselves down tonight though with their wank performances. But they did the same after beating City.
