I was searching for the 2014 world cup thread on this forum, absolutely could not find it. Wanted to see how many people picked Germany over Brazil to win it before the tournament. I remember predicting Brazil to lift the trophy with utmost confidence, only to see Germany humiliate them. I went over about 10 pages. If soneone see who I predicted, let me know |

Backed Germany in 2014 (I remember being so surprised loads backed Brazil over them - that team was so young and the German squad was just ridiculously good) and France in 2016, but I also won money on Portugal then - Sky were doing an offer where every time your team won a game you got a £3 free bet, so I stuck £10 on Portugal at 15/1 or similar because they had in theory an easy run to the Semis. They were awful in the groups and didn't get me any free bets, but won me money in the end!
Think I'll bet on France again, but waiting to see if a bookie has a better deal than SkyBet or William Hill. Spain look amazing but have so little pace in attack, and I think a team that can hold their own on the ball may cause them problems. Germany have an obscene squad, but just don't look quite as good as last time. I think France will just edge it, but it relies on a couple of their big names performing.

Skybet have a decent offer on at the moment. Back a team to win the World Cup (upto £10 max stake) and they'll give you your money back as a free bet if they get knocked out. I've stuck my £10 on Germany to retain. Backed France for the last 3 tournaments and they keep letting me down, so jumped ship to the Germans. Which means France will almost certainly win it. Backed Uruguay just because I fancy the odds. Don't like backing an outright at a major tournament for a 20 quid win |
