Or maybe it's that he's not getting the transfers we need? Does anyone think our squad is good enough, plenty of moaning on here about it though. I'm going to stick up for good old ed here a little but other then perisic last season from the outside anyway it looks like Jose has been backed massively in the market If Jose goes he should be following right behind...

Honestly, I’m wondering if the only thing keeping Jose around is money. He just seems to be so flat and uninterested, which is also how we’ve played for a while now. Or maybe it's that he's not getting the transfers we need? Does anyone think our squad is good enough, plenty of moaning on here about it not being. Daniel Harris ( quoted from a thread on Red cafe) who seems to have a lot of fans on Twitter, not sure what connections he has if any has basically said the Glazers are happy with the squad and think it's good enough for top 4.As I have said before maybe they are tightening the purse strings? They refused to pay for Perisic whether you agreed with that signing or not. We have agreed personal terms with Sandro but are refusing to meet the transfer fee with Juve. I'm not saying that we should be blowing ridiculous amounts of money but it's worrying if the top 4 situation is correct in that they will only go so far. Sums up everything that they think that. a) What the fuck would you know about it you weasel fucks b) Even if it is, top 4 is not the goal you villainous cretins

I've not met anyone on here yet who has argued that the squad is good enough, obviously we should be doing better but what if top 4 and an Fa cup final is a good season for the gimps? The fans are being shortchanged if that's the case especially if they are refusing to invest adequately.

With the current squad at his disposal, a top manager should be able to produce awesome football. This huffing and puffing is an attempt by Jose to shrug off any future blame if he fails again, but the reality is that he’s been heavily backed in the transfer market and a big component of a manager’s job is to improve and work with players, rather than just replace them with slightly more polished prospects.

Van Gaal should have been sacked at Xmas but stayed until top 4 was missed the following year. Had we had no cup final he would have gone earlier. So what is their ambition beyond top 4 really?

Right now he has at his disposal, in attacking terms:
Pogba. The most complete midfielder after Modric at this years World Cup. Lukaku. The most impressive CF (by some distance) at this years World Cup. Lingard. One of the better creative midfielders who was instrumental in getting his country 4th. Martial. Former Golden Boy winner (some they get wrong but generally they know what they’re doing.) Rashford. Former Golden Boy runner-up.
We also have Sanchez, who has been a serious player in the recent past. As has Mata but not to the same extent.
Are these as good as City’s weapons? Probably not. Is it as good as the Vermin’s? Yes. Chelsea’s, Spurs, Arsenal’s? Absolutely yes.
There’s no more excuses.

Has it ever felt like anything other than less than the sum of its parts under Jose?

I thought it was actually a significant improvement over the first match I saw against C.A. I just enjoyed watching football again, seems a bit to early to critique the performances to me, was some good stuff along with a lot of mediocre. Buta lo was nice to just watch the game. Really? I'm reading a lot of reviews of the game that are saying we were awful. Same old. If that was an improvement over the Club America game, God help us.
I am actually quite optimistic that by seasons start this is going to be an enjoyable team to watch.
Course, I am football starved here in the States, so just about any match would be enjoyable for me to watch Give it time, there are some good young players, and I think it will be just fine.
Especially believe that will be much better in the middle of the pitch than last season

We haven't had a leader for as long as I can remember. The team crumbled not long after Moyes worked his magic and I've not really seen any evidence since of that returning. We play as a team of individuals.

For me, this is first team that Jose has had a chance to put his own stamp on, if not completely, at least to a much greater degree than in the past.
I think that there will be attitude adjustment on what people say about him not playing younger players, because his best squad is young, and I believe that it is going to be an exciting team to watch.
Just have a very good feeling about what this season is gonna bring

Just have a very good feeling about what this season is gonna bring Porto and the first Chelsea side he managed couldn’t have been more in his image if they all wore masks of him every time they took to the pitch.

An in the end, isn't success he had there why he is at United in the first place??

An in the end, isn't success he had there why he is at United in the first place?? Yes but that doesn’t have much to do with your assertion. He’s put his stamp on plenty of teams in the past, Utd aren’t any different in that regard. And I’m sorry but- “I think that there will be attitude adjustment on what people say about him not playing younger players, because his best squad is young..’ This flies against every piece of evidence we have at our disposal.

I would hope that Jose is gonna start his best players, regardless of age.
I guess I am not prepared to judge the manager until I see what happens in a season where the team is more "his" than not I am United fan, I don't see the problems as resting on the manager's doorstep, but I am not as knowledgeable as 99% of the members here about the game either
Just gonna support the club an the manager until I see something that feels like he is fooking things up an I just can't see it at this point and time
