Bloke’s an utter misery. Doesn’t even like football anymore, hasn’t since before he took the United job. Black cloud following him round. Game has passed him by. Hasn’t exactly had an outstanding time in his last couple of seasons either has he? Won the Conference League. Yeah, mint, so did David Moyes.

I have to say Alonso's achievement with Leverkusen is incredible. Unbeaten all season in the Bundesliga and finished the season 17 points clear of Stuttgart and 18 points clear of Bayern.
Whenever he next becomes available we should try to get to the front of the queue and if he is mad enough to want to join us we should ditch whoever is in charge at the time.
